Gracie Gold laid down a clean short program today, landing 3Lz3T (the 3T looked q or under), 2A, and 3Lo. Gold scored 67.49.
She came out with a different mindset tonight, I could see it on warmup. Also had great speed and stamina, hit everything pretty much, and I think that is the first time I've seen her do that since she decided to return.

The issue was her last combo she went into it too slowly, I think if she can just pick up some speed, she can get rid of the UR. She has great rotation, and for the most part rotates everything, her issue is the speed going into the jump.
This is true. She was probably nervous is her first senior competition, too. However, the judging at Warsaw cup was also incredible weird. Very obvious UR were ignored from other skaters including the leader and yet Lindsay got 3F edge call, 3Lzq+3T<. I'm not saying these calls were wrong but the inconsistency was very strange. It felt like the technical panel was either tossing a coin to determine who got technical calls or was playing favorites.

Lindsay and the two Finnish skaters had the best skates of the event whatever the scores show...

I was reading some reports and it looks like Lindsay had some UR's. I didn't see the performance but, do you still think Lindsay is a medal threat at Nationals?

I watched the skate, there was an UR on both of her jumps in the combination. I do still think she has the capability of being a medal threat for Nationals, the errors were uncharacteristic for her. We'll see how she does in the FS in a few days. My cheerleading for Lindsay comes from the fact she has improved her TES difficulty YOY with decent consistency, unlike Amber/Karen both of who are doing virtually the same layout as the last Olympic season.

I don't think I've ever seen Gracie smile that much. And while I'm not a proponent of reading into athletes' facial expressions or assigning value to whether a smile is better than a serious face during competition (especially for women), it was really good to see her so happy.
I don’t think there was reading in needed.
