I don't agree with that.
Her artistry seems to have improved FOR HER, but I think there still is a long way to go.

If you are referring to her score relative to Mao and Yuna's, then yes I think it is undermarked.
It should have been at least a few points higher than Mao's who missed a jump entirely.
Or Mao and Yuna shouldn't have scored that high.

I like Pang/Tong but they will always score much lower then other top teams if they all skate clean. Totmianina/Marinin, Shen/Zhou, Savchenko/Szowkoly, Zhang/Zhang, always score much higher then them when there is no mistakes. The judges just see them as a team that needs other top teams to make alot of mistakes to even hang in with them. I am not saying that because I dont like them, I actually find them undermarked and underrated, I am just going by what history shows us. Remember at the Olympics two top teams (Shen/Zhou and Zhang/Zhang) had huge mistakes and still beat them off the podium at their best pretty much. Now with clean skates they are a whopping 6 points in the SP behind the Germans and the Zhangs, not only here, but their GP circuit bests differential this season before the GP final is also around that. It is just a common pattern and signal how the judges view them, a big level below the other top teams. Their gold at the 2006 Worlds and silver at the 2007 Worlds was that way too, others made big mistakes and that is how they were able to make it.
 
I watched Domnina/Shabalin's FD again and I noticed a few things:

1. What in the heck kind of ending is that. They go to a closing pose like 6 seconds before the music ends and just stay there while the music is playing down. What the heck kind of a finish is that. :scratch:

2. Their last rotational lift in either direction is so wobbly, and he looks like he is shaky on the blades almost.

3. One of their early footwork sequences they are incredibly far apart, they look atleast 10 feet apart.

That being said, it looks like an improvement from COR, that doesnt mean I dont think they were overscored still though. They have improved the FD, but they have to improve it more before I am entirely satisfied with their marks for it. Of course my opinion is irrelevant, it is the judges who make the call and they have apparently decided it is already a WC winning FD.

Who knows, many of us thought that before the event and it wouldnt be that surprising. They didnt win the OD so maybe they werent. I still didnt think they won the FD by 3 points over Belbin/Agosto or the French though. Not if I were a judge.
 
Maybe we should get rid of Ice dancing from the Olympics. It's almost impossible to judge ice dancing fairly and too many scandals.
