I have to say that Lambiel's exhibition was one of the most stunning performances I've EVER seen! Oh my gosh, that was angst done with about as much beauty and emotion as a person could possibly extrude.
I can't remember the last time I saw a skater giving it their all and just letting their heart lie bare before an audience the way Stephane did in that program. I didn't think I could love his skating more but this program just made that possible. Simply transcendental.

I agree. :love::love::love::love::love:

I just noticed at the very end of moir and virtue's Caroline comes out with a new red costume and her hair in a pony tail!!! I wanna see her gala now!! lol
Is it a Christmas theme costume or a 4th of July costume? :p

(Drat that ESPN360 teaser site. :mad: I had just figured out that widescreen and large were the best viewing settings and then they for whatever reason didn't show the free skate or the gala.)

Yeah, thanks so much!

I love the dress and the hair. Maybe a pony-tail is just like make-up: it makes you look younger when you're older, and it makes you look older when you're younger. :laugh: I never would've thought, but hey! Caroline looks a good 3 years older than usual. ;)

Normally she reminds me of Michelle in her exhibition programs, but this time she really brought Sasha to mind: the ponytail, the expressions, the hands, and the dress. Somehow the overall effect reminds me of Sasha and her God Bless America program.

Yup, Mao!! She did 3 2As on a row plus three triples! She is so much more talented than Yu-Na Kim.

Yu-na has more versatility - she can skate to Pop music like Just a Girl AND slow music like Once Upon a Time which is very similar to Mao's How Deep is the Night. Therefore, Yu-na is more talented than Mao. :rock:

I think both Mao and Yu-na have their strengths artistically. Mao has better positions and line. Her spiral is gorgeous...

However Yu-na is the more musical skater, better performer, and she can skate to different types of music.

ESPN360 showed the gala live this morning at 10:00 am est. Unfortunately they are not repeating it, instead repeating the men's and ladies' short programs , one of the dance programs ( not sure which) and whatever little of the men's free skate they broadcasted before losing the feed.

Yu-na has something that can't be taught but something you can only be born with. A natural talent.

Goodness, Mao's exhibition program this year makes me melt. It is gorgeous as anything I've ever seen on ice. I think she's revamped it a bit this time, with the extra jumps and all, but I think it works really well.
At the same time, I don't think any of the other ladies in the field could pull off No Doubt...I personally wish that Yu-Na would bring back "Once Upon A Dream" at some point, but this program is a lot of fun.

I love Yu-na's more artistic side and Once Upon a Dream especially..

But can I honestly say that I do think it's a good thing that she's skating to different types of music...And having fun with it... It will only make her a better performer.
