Photos from the new Ice Age number.

Google translation of the caption:

Figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva and blogger Danya Milokhin performed a piece based on The Snow Queen in the new Ice Age issue. Tiktoker played the role of Kai, and Medvedev played the role of Gerda.
The couple performed several difficult lifts. Milokhin wrote the word "eternity" on a large transparent stand, which played the role of ice. In the course of the performance, the duo corrected one letter, after which it turned out "fidelity".
In the new issue of Medvedeva and Milokhin, music from the film "Interstellar" sounds.

Do we know how many episodes are left? And I still haven't found the full video of the Spiderman episode.

Does Zhen say she is officially retired competitively in this article? I couldn’t tell if the translation was right… I did see she said all jumps are painful other than the 3S and she can only move her back on one side? That is sad that she still has so much pain/limitations/injuries. I’m glad she is happy otherwise in her life and still skating beautifully on shows etc..

Briefly:

Yes, Zhenya is practically unable to turn to the left because of problems with her spine. Therefore, only salchow and (under favorable circumstances) toe loop can be performed. Therefore, a return to sports is out of the question. However, she does not intend to officially announce her retirement for some time, because she categorically dislikes the media response that such statements are usually accompanied by.

As an example, she cited Adelina Sotnikova, who officially announced her retirement from the sport only six years after she actually stopped training and performing. But she is determined to continue participating in shows such as Ice Age, as well as being a commentator and sports journalist.

Unfortunately, most of this video is real junk. I have never been interested in this Milokhin before. Now I've looked, and I wish I hadn't seen it.

It's a sad day, but it was a day that would come eventually regardless of covid and her injuries; no sports career lasts forever. I truly believe she is the greatest figure skater of all time, and I feel so lucky to have seen her compete in person twice. I'm excited to watch her continue to grow and blossom and see what new directions her life takes. God bless you, Zhenya; that was a wonderful career, and you were an easy person to cheer for! :thank:

Addition: Zhenya said that the best 4 minutes of her life was a free skate at the Olympics. And if she was asked to go back in time, she would agree, even knowing that the competition would end with the same result. However, she stopped worrying about her defeat quite recently, about six months ago. She looked at some kind of competition from the side and realized that figure skating had changed dramatically, and the sport that was several years ago no longer exists. And therefore, there is simply nowhere to return. Now she just wants to enjoy life.

I don't know how reliable such articles are. In that wonderful YouTube Interview she said the sp along with the LP at Rostelcom 2019 were her favourite moments.

these are her own words. She says them starting at 47:00. Direct translation from voice:
I really liked the Olympics. Everything that happened after is difficult, we'd better omit this topic. Well, at the Olympics itself, being there, in the Olympic village, you felt as if you just won in life. If they were offered: if you want to go back there and repeat the Olympics, I would say - yes, 100%, because it was very cool.

- Even if the Olympics also ended?

Yes!

- But it was a great disappointment.

Great disappointment! Don't care! I was very cool, and I skated a free program ... I have never felt such freedom. This is probably the state of Zen that every athlete strives for, but not everyone achieves it. I skated and just ... on such a machine for these 4 minutes, and I was thinking. I was not thinking about the program, not about the movements, but simply about life. Here I am driving in the middle of the program, looking around and asking myself: do you understand that you are at the Olympics? And I say to myself: yes! Olympics! It was like I was interviewing myself. It should be scary - so many people are looking at you, the whole world. You're scared? No, not at all. But if in the second half you just lie down and wipe the ice with your backside, what will happen? In general, I do not care, at that moment I was the happiest as an athlete. Not from a human point of view, but as an athlete - I reached this peak. Like in the movie "Black Swan". Now dance and die. It was about the same.
- Can we say that it was the best evening in your life?
No, the best 4 minutes of my life.

I did not like him from the beginning and I read some translations on twitter, now I see that I was not wrong with my prejudice towards him.:mad:
he's terribly stupid. For example, he said that Zhenya is only unable to perform the entire previous set of jumps, because she does not really want it (the translation is not literal, but the essence is just that). At this point, even the interviewer, who clearly does not understand anything about figure skating, began shaking his head reproachfully.

In general, this is some kind of professional slacker. I don’t know why she needed him. Unless as a lap dog, and that one is probably smarter.

Zhenya is a treasure and I appreciate all the good times she gave us and how much she always effort. 🥰 Sports careers end but her life goes on and she has many things ahead of her, I love that she still says "that skating is her life", she will always be my favorite skater and a legend.
