Anna, Kamila and Liza. The rest are injured or below the required level.
Apart from what was written already, Maiia's GP Italy score is higher than any non-russian lady this season. Both of her GP FS scores are on the same level as Sasha's FS score from GP America (154+), only Kamila and Anna scored higher. Even with mistakes she is overcoming clean Liza in the FS. I really don't think she should be considered as "below the required level". If for some reason she will be in the olympic team she surely will be the medal contender, she only could fear her nerves more than the non-russian competitors.

As for Sasha, so far everything seems she goes to the nationals and remember last year she also skated with injury.

And yes, there is also Ksenia Sinitsyna.

Damn. And I thought that we would get conformation that Usacheva has WD...but instead it's Kostornaia.

I can't see Usacheva coming back in time for Nationals, so most probably she's out too.

Let's just hope that it stays with just two WDs this year.

Reports are Sasha lost 3-3 combos, lost 3Lo and 4T.
A pity. So much talent for nothing...

Well as long as she can repeat the quad lutz twice and do 1 of the salchow or flip, she could probably still outscore Tuktamysheva, or at least give her a solid argument for the Olympic team since there's 2 months between now and the ladies SP.

Just for a little context. Our renowned czech snowboarder, olympic gold medalist Eva Samková, broke both her left and right ankles two days ago during the race. It happened just at the finish, where she did everything possible to get into the silver position (in which she succeeded).

This is her 8th serious injury (and 2nd and 3rd fracture, others are torn ligaments, sprained ankles, dislocated shoulder etc.) within the last ten years in the top sport. To prolong it further, she is still hoping she will be competing at the olympics and started the rehab immediately.

No matter what personal world does each of us live in, this is the real world of the top sport and figure skating is no exception whether we like it or not.
Or the story of skier Schmidhofer who had more surgeries than you can count and at 32 came back.,

In a lot of these sports, staying healthy is half the battle.

Well .. with this evolutions ... russian maybe won't have ladies in the olympics ..

good gravy - its 2 WDs (though Usacheva's isn't official yet, I think) from skaters most people thought were long shots for the Olympic team, there's still Valieva and Shcherbakova who won both of their GP events, Tuktamysheva who placed second in both of her's, Khromhyh who placed second and third, Trusova who won her only GP event.

I remember him skating competitively, however I didn't follow him closely! What would I know? I know he is quite a character!! So what !! Leave him alone!! Don't be so quick to judge!!
Not sure what you’re implying, but nobody is picking on Johnny. People can have whatever preference in commentary that they choose.

You admitted you’re not familiar with his shenanigans while a competitive skater. Perhaps you shouldn’t be so quick to reply without doing research.

Moving on….

I was really hoping for Alena to the Olympic team. She’s a skaters skater. The world fell in love with her 2 years ago. Terrible timing all the way around for her.

Does anyone in here have insight? Because i just read in a comment that there may be insights or rumors that kamila could have a minior injury ? Anyone knows something about this? Hopefully its not true because i have no doubt all hell eill break loose if it is

Hopefully Liza can be better at Nationals than she's been in the past. She hasn't earned a medal in that event since before winning her World title in 2015. It'll be interesting to see Sasha's strategy for the event, whether she takes more risk to go for gold or just do enough to try to beat Liza. Maiia has had the worst season of the top contenders so I don't know whether a medal at Nationals will get her an Olympic spot outright.

Comment on instagram, thats why i ask if someone in here has any information or has heard anything because thats the first time i heard it and i hope its not true and its just a rumor nit based on real facts

Below is a quote (Google translation disclaimer) from Shcherbakova, where she talks about the tape that was on her neck at the Budapest Trophy, basically she says all athletes deal with little injuries here and there. Crystal seems to always have visitors so Valieva might've had a sore muscle and taken a light day or had some type of sport tape for extra support that someone happened to see and is now running wild with it. Elite athletes deal with little things all the time, unless something officially is announced by the Fed or her team, if she is injured its probably very minor and nothing that makes her incapable of competing.

At your first tournament in Budapest, everyone was a little worried about the neck tape. I'm sorry, but I'm going to ask this question — what was it?

I have already said once - this is a professional sport, one way or another, all athletes constantly have some little things popping up, because the body is in constant tension. There was a small problem, and if the competition had been held a week earlier or a week later, no one would have seen anything. It just so happened that it was at the time of the competition that my neck was bothering me. And as a treatment, they just glued this patch. When I arrived at the competition, it was already closer to the last days when something bothered me. I came back — and everything was already fine. There are such little things, they happen. If there would have been no competition — no one would have known what it was, it just so happened.

Lets hope you are right , i mean a little injury can lead to a big injury (with everyone ) and thats the last thing i would wish. For any of the girls
