Definitely. It will be interesting to see, as Scott suggested above, if they will try to hold juniors scores below seniors not to undermine seniors' self-confidence before Olympics..

Amazing senior national debut for SS. She really has a good bit of everything. Anyone who thinks of her just as a jumper who can just do quads and triple axles is mistaken.

Hey she should go for it. A top-five is possible which would be sensational her first senior Nationals. I just hope she gets the score she deserves.

I think she was within a few points of bronze.

Did it happen Azi? A lot of people on YouTube think SS should have gotten bronze.

Maybe that's debatable but what isn't debatable is she had a fantastic eye opening senior rusnats debut!

I would say in SP they kept Adeliia a little lower, but Anya as well. So it canceled out each other.

It was a robb, It's shameful, 10 points in the short and 10 points in the free, and this only in Tech,

With 3 quads and one 3A, she was obviously underscored and should be third. It was the most unfair and biased championship. At least in an international event, she will be scored fairly.

You can make a case that SS deserved bronze and maybe even silver at the recent senior Russian national championship. She was a revelation she was sensational. But she's also a junior girl in an olympic season so the junior girls were always going to feel the pinch when it came to scoring. It's not right but you can't have her crushing Anna Sasha or Liza. That's what the Federation was thinking.

This was a great coming out party for Sofia. I hope her team has explained to her that if this was not an Olympic here she would have made the podium.

Remember when 3A made their senior National debut three years ago it was 10 months after the Olympics and that's why the Russian Federation let those three girls run wild over the seniors. Plus Zhenya was with her new coach and Alina bombed the free skate opening the door form 3A to take the podium.

I can't wait to see SS at Junior Russian Nationals.

I had never watched her programs before, she was wonderful, she was the discovery of the year (at least for me), I wish she had finished fourth, but not higher, sorry: she did not have better jumps than AT and she was not more artistic than AS (in my opinion, there is still quite a huge gap, which is quite normal given the age gap). I have no problem with a junior skater being better than a senior skater, because "in souls nobly born valor does not depend upon age"... but I want the full package: jumps and artistry and grace and maturity. Unfortunately jumps have become the alpha and the omega of figure skating, so mature skaters have become comparable with young ones, if not inferior...

I want to see Sofia do great at junior Russian nationals. Her upside is very big.

Did SS land the same amount of ultra jumps as KV and one more than Sasha? Was Sofia 4/4 in ultra jumps and Sasha 3/5? Hmmmm.

About the only chance at Olympics, I don't know. Considering her abilities, I don't think skaters will get much better in 4 years. Sure, women category progressed in a speed of light in the last 4 years but now it will inevitably slow down, I don't think anyone will start jumping quintuples in the upcoming years..
