Q&A
She looks breathtaking

Indeed she does!! I love the red hair! And she should definitely try out a bunch of fun colors now when she's not competing.

Here's a tweet thread with some English summaries of what she said:

I really REALLY hope Aliona gets a chance to start in a movie or TV show sometime. She's a star and the camera loves her!!
Yes, Aliona, PLEASE go into show business!!

Aliona has always loved horse-riding, but her other hobbies seem to change as often as her hair color. First it was violin lessons, and now she's taking vocal lessons?! o_O

And we already knew that Aliona was close to Anna and Dasha Usacheva, but it was cute to hear her refer to them as her "gang." 🥰 I did say that Aliona needs to train with her "girl gang" to feel comfortable!!

Also, there are some partial transcripts on sports.ru, and this part was particularly interesting...

GoogleTranslate:
European figure skating champion Alena Kostornaya told what quality she dislikes in people.

“I will now give a specific example. Perhaps this is called the devaluation of other people's labor. The meaning is this. You and your colleague were given an assignment - let's say, to do scientific work at the institute.

He does his job plus or minus well, you are also acceptable. Then you pass the result, and the teacher points out to you mistakes, shortcomings, something that could be corrected.

You leave the office, and your colleague starts chasing you: "You did the garbage in your unit, and mine was good." At the same time, absolutely not thinking that since both work, then both have mistakes. So you both had flaws. This is a team effort, and everyone is to blame.

This is probably what I dislike most about people. I hate, annoying. I’m ready to crack for this right from the guard, ”Kostornaya said in her blog on Youtube.

I don't know about you all, but to me this certainly sounds like a dig at a certain coach at Khrustalniy (*cough* Daniil *cough*)... :devilish:

But I think the most "Aliona-like" thing in the video was not even about Aliona, but her dad -- apparently they have a tradition where he grows a beard before New Year's and dyes it different colors..?? 🤣 :ROFLMAO:

I think I can tell where Aliona's devilish side comes from... ;)

It doesn't seem to be about Daniil, rather a team mate? Maybe a former team mate. Or a school mate too. Certainly not Anna or Dasha at least.
Is she still going to Khrystalny, e.g. for some off-ice training?
Neighbours can object to violin lessons? She can't play with an arm in a cast, either.

Good point about not being able to play with a cast! Yes, maybe that is the reason for the vocal lessons!
I'm not sure if she's doing off-ice training -- you should ask her in the comments!

I have often speculated that Anastasia Panina (one of the other journalists) is a secret Kosto-fan, but now I'm wondering if the entire staff [at Match TV] are Kosto-fans!! 🤔

Well, judging by this recent IG post, I think the figure skating team at Match TV are definitely Kosto-fans!

The text on the photo says "Aliona Kostornaia flirts with the camera at the Tutberidze show".
And the caption on the post says:
The best way to start your day in a positive way:

🪞 Look at yourself in the mirror.
😍 Understand who is the most beautiful cake here.
🎀 Go and bring beauty to the world.

Have a nice day, the most beautiful cake! 💛🖤

Yes, our girl is definitely the most beautiful "cake"! Share your beauty with the world!

Q&A
She looks breathtaking

translation:

Hello everyone!
You are on my channel again. Today is the third video. I read the comments under the first two videos, saw all the requests and decided there would be a Q&A video today.
Now I can see questions on my iPad screen. I chose the most interesting of those that were sent, and I will try to answer to give a detailed answer to each of them, so that you get exactly the information you wanted. Go!

So the first question:
you have a new image now. How long have you been thinking about changing your hair color, or was it a spontaneous decision?

It was a spontaneous decision, I am generally a spontaneous person. I do not like to think for a long time about some actions, for example, choosing a color for my hair, a manicure or something else. Because the more spontaneous, the better it is. This is how it works for me. Plus, we [in the family] have a small tradition: before the New Year, dad specially grows a beard and dyes it in different colors. I decided - why not, especially since I have no competition yet, so let it be hair. So [inaudible]

When you are in a competition, do you manage to see the city, taste the local food?

Before the situation with the coronavirus - yes, of course, we all examined the city, tried all kinds of food, because it is always interesting to plunge into the culture of the country I came to. Because everything is always very different [from what is in Russia]. And, of course, it is interesting to see everything and try everything. But, unfortunately, a situation has arisen with the coronavirus, and we are now not allowed anywhere. So the only entertainment is to get together with companies, discuss something, play some games - for example, "stone-card", something else, "Monopoly", well, all these different games, who will bring what, who is not too lazy [to carry it]. So we get together and play.

Do you have a favorite dish that you are ready to eat forever?

Naturally, this is ice cream

Do you prefer to accentuate your eyes or lips when doing makeup?

I have very expressive eyes, and it is natural that most of my makeup options are based on the fact that I focus on the eyes. It's easier and more interesting for me. Because if I paint my eyes poorly, then all the rest of the makeup will look smudged. Moreover, by focusing on the eyes, I get great opportunities, while I do my lips according to the usual scheme, there are few variations.

What is your favorite character trait?

My favorite character trait is obstinacy. It sometimes gets in the way and sometimes it helps. If you send it in the right direction, you get fire.

What do you value in people, and what, on the contrary, cannot be tolerated?

What can I not tolerate in people? I will now give you a specific example. Perhaps this is called the devaluation of someone else's labor. The point is this: you and your colleague were given an assignment. Well, let's say this happens at the university, and you are doing some kind of scientific work, a presentation - it doesn't matter what, the main thing is that you have to work together. He does his part more or less well, you do your part also acceptable. Then you submit the result, and the teacher points out to you mistakes, shortcomings, what can be corrected. You leave the office, and your colleague begins to express complaints against you: we were reprimanded because you did this nonsense in your part of the project, but my part is flawless. At the same time, he absolutely does not think about the fact that if two are working, then two have mistakes. That is, you cannot say that I did well and you did badly. So you both had some flaws. Because this is a collective, joint work and everyone is to blame. Probably, this is what I don't like most about people, I just can't stand it, it's annoying. I'm ready to kick such a person with all my might.

and part 2:

If you had a chance to fly to any country in the world right now, where would you go?

I really love to travel, and naturally, I would fly to China. But, unfortunately - (shows a hand in a cast).

How do you recover from a hard day at work? Maybe you watch TV shows and just go to bed?

I am very distracted by my hobbies. These are horses, this is singing. In addition, I can go to the sauna with a pool in any fitness club that is nearby - it's also very good. Well, naturally, healthy sleep is the basis for proper rest.

Would you like to try yourself in cinema, to act in some kind of film or TV series? If so, in what genre - drama, comedy, detective?

It's hard for me to say right away, because in general I don't even know very well what I want. But, of course, trying to star in a series would be insanely cool. Or in a movie. For example, this is a series about vampires, similar to "Twilight" or "The Vampire Diaries." Whoever doesn't like that is your problem. If the movie, then this is something similar to "Spider-Man". This is also insanely cool, but this is, of course, a higher level. Naturally, some "Pirates of the Caribbean" would suit me. I think it would be very good for me. It would be very cool to appear in such movies or TV series.

What's your favorite and least favorite element in figure skating?

I have about the same attitude to all elements, but, probably, most of all I do not like rittberger. No matter how I perform it, it still seems to me that it is crooked, awkward and I cannot change it. And I don't know how to make a cantilever. I can’t do it at all. I do not understand how this is done, what needs to be strained to make it work. Trying to fulfill it, I, like a snot, just lie on the ice.

Which of the girls in the group supports you the most?

This is my favorite gang. This is Anya Shcherbakova, this is Dasha Usacheva. I just really love them! I wish Anya good luck, Dasha - a speedy recovery. In general, this is my gang. The boys always help a lot - Maurice, Nika - they always prompt, if they see that some absolutely nonsense is going on, they will always drive up and prompt what and how.

What was your brightest event this year?

I had quite a few of them, exactly the same as there were competitions. But not too much either. For me, any competition is a bright event, I love to compete, I love performing on ice, I really like it. Therefore, every time I went out on the ice, I did it with the thought: “it doesn't matter how it ends, how it turns out, the main thing is that I'm here and I like it.”

What's the most unusual gift you've received from your fans?

My fans always try to please me, it's always something unusual, something new. Therefore, I am extremely happy that they support me. I always look at all these gifts, I always look at the postcards, I always read the messages. I have it all in a separate large pile. I have a whole mountain of letters, sometimes I get them at once in stacks. I always try, if asked to send something, do it. But, unfortunately, I do not always succeed. In any case, I am very pleased that so many people support me.

Do you like winter or summer more?

I love summer because it’s my birthday in summer. In addition, in the summer you do not need to put on a bunch of things and go out like a balloon.

Is there a person who inspires you?

I am insanely inspired by the work of Billie Eilish, she also inspires me as a person, because she and I are about the same age, although in appearance it is not so noticeable. Therefore, I try to get all my ideas from her. In addition, I want to note that after watching Ice Age, I drew attention to Danya Milokhin. This guy got up on his own, achieved everything on his own. I express my respect to him - keep up the good work, you're cool.

What's your best purchase lately?

The last time I bought myself a dog. Audrey! (calls the dog) Come on, come on here. See how sweetly she stretches? Here is such a little ass. She is already a year old. And, in spite of everything, I have never regretted that I bought it. Despite the fact that somewhere she may be naughty, mischievous, but I love her madly.
(calls the dog, and she climbs into her lap)
I love this little ass madly, and have never regretted purchasing it.

Favorite clothing color?

There is no such. Sometimes I dress very brightly, and sometimes I wear tracksuits because I am lazy, and sometimes I dress like they dress when entering the carpet. That is, it always depends on the mood in different ways.

last part:

At competitions, during photo shoots or filming, do you do your makeup yourself? Do you trust anyone with this process?

During photo shoots and filming, of course, specially trained people do makeup. And specially trained people also do my hair. And at competitions I do everything myself. But I have two girls who paint and comb my hair. And if I ask, they will come. But in competitions I prefer to do it myself.

The new year 2022 is approaching. Tell us, what are you expecting from the new year? Do you set goals for yourself? Is there a global challenge? Maybe you want to try yourself in something new?

In something new, yes. I'm starting to take vocal lessons and I really like it. I've always dreamed about it. Naturally, I still can't sing, but I hope that something will come out of it. Competitions, the Russian championship were my global task, but, unfortunately, I didn't succeed. I was removed from this competition because the plaster cast on my hand does not even allow my fingers to be brought together, let alone tying my shoelaces on skates or combing my hair. Therefore, the main goal is to train for the next four years, show myself worthily, and participate in major competitions.

Thank you all, thank you for watching. I tried to take into account all the most interesting questions, tried to answer in the most detailed and understandable way. I know you have many more ideas for new videos. Maybe you want to see something so that I can tell something. Do not hesitate, write, write in the comments, write on Instagram. I will try to watch and read everything, make an even more interesting video. Thank you all, see you again, bye!

I did not expect to watch the SP.
I had some cooking to do at my parents house for Xmas eve, but I did manage to watch until Liza before leaving.
Kami was nothing short of divine.
Her apart (she's doing another sport) Aliona being Aliona would have been clearly second, and that made me sad and mad about the last two years.

About the cooking I would gladly take her as my assistant for the next two days.
Aliona giggling in my kitchen would worth months of cleaning, so a just pair of day is nothing.

I had to disagree about "I have very expressive eyes" tough.
Don't sell youself short little devil: "Priceless jevels imbued with magical charm" would be more fitting

I wonder what aliona thinks watching nationals today. Some big scores were given out and she could have done well with just an average performance. Liza had a bad free skate sasha fell on her 3A. Such bad luck the most beautiful skater is not there.

Are there any updates on Alionas medical condition or whether she needs surgery or not?

I think we're all sad and mad at the same time. It's just unbelievable that aleona was not there it's not there when the door is actually wide open for that 3rd spot.

What did you cook?

tonight just spaghetti with vongole (clams) and bottarga (mullet eggs).
Tomorrow a variation of "turdenos a la Rossini" a classical french
Day after tomorrow a whole fish lunch (starters, first and main course) because it will be at my place and I will have to do the heavy lifting.

Italian Xmas days are basically an unending family gathering around the table.
Eteri would kill us all before Eve's midnight :ROFLMAO:

That would not be on the TT girls diet. But it would be on my diet and it sounds great.

You might as well make some for aliona she's not gonna be skating for a while. ;)

I'm salivating.
We too do tournedos à la Rossini (if you're Italian, thank you for the gift of Rossini by the way). But we skip the Périgueux sauce, it rather distracts than anything. So just a toast, a thick slice of beef fillet cut "à contresens", a good slice of foie gras (duck or goose, depending on inspiration) and a slice of (real) truffle. I'm sure Eteri would fight but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt a skater's figure.
And adding bottarga to spaghetti alle vongole, that looks divine. And skaters just have to adjust the amount of spaghetti to their precise needs (and the cooking because pasta al dente have a lower glycemic index than more cooked pasta, so the choice of the cooking depends on when the skater needs energy).
I wish you delicious meals and bon appétit!

I have just watched the third part of Tutberidze's interview. This is actually not exactly the third part - rather, some kind of compilation from the first two parts with a few additions. So Eteri said that Kostornaya's injury is a crack in one of her fingers. According to Tutberidze, with such an injury it was quite possible to continue training and participate in competitions. As an example, she used Evgenia Medvedeva, who performed at the Russian championship with a plaster cast on her arm, and it was imperceptible.

What's the reason of blocking the wrist to cure a broken finger?
