and it's totally not the USSR era where you'd get your legs broken for saying something bad about either
you know, Brezhnev, the famous Soviet leader, was a real hockey fan. And once, when he was enjoying the next match, his favorite team lost due to frankly dishonest refereeing. Right in front of him. On his eyes. And... nothing. The legs of the judges, hockey players from the other team, as well as the fans who supported this team, remained intact.
From this small example, it is clear that you are talking about the USSR without understanding what this country really was. If we were now seriously discussing this issue, you probably would have cited a lot of facts as confirmation of your point of view, but this really means little.
Here are some simple facts:
1) there are cats and there are mice.
2) cats often hunt mice.
3) mice sometimes successfully run away from cats.
Does this mean that "Tom and Jerry" is a documentary that fully captures real events?
I would not talk about this if I did not see that you draw conclusions in the same way regarding figure skating. You see some individual facts, like points on a graph, and draw a straight line between these points. And there maybe a teddy bear was drawn.
I also didn't quite like what I saw at the championship. And there are some tendencies that make me feel discouraged. But I do not have complete information, and therefore I prefer not to make final categorical conclusions. As for Eteri's interviews, do not forget that she also has emotions, and they are probably even stronger than yours.
