Very good point. I was afraid the stress of the everything going on, the travel issues, covid in Nashville, and then the addition of Tracy being sick today, would eventually make him hit a wall. Thankfully, he got through today's comp. I want to tell him to not overdo anything in the exhibition and just get through it and go rest. I also want to give him a hug.Under the circumstances, Jason really won his spot by not bombing this competition. He got almost 290 points. If he would have succumbed under the immense pressure, then I would have had no choice but agree with sending Ilia instead, but how Jason kept it together was impressive. He did mess the quad, a spin, and slightly an axel, but he was amazing overall.
Ignore it. Jason earned that spot and we are all grateful that USFS recognized that. Ilia will have his turn. He's a great talent in the making. Jason is a great talent.Okay can I just say I’m flabbergasted by some of the vitriol being spewed on FSU (I haven’t had the courage to check here or on Twitter but I’m guessing it’s the same).
Just gonna ignore it all and be glad for Jason.
God, I wish I had. Some of the things being said on the thread about the Team announcement are just downright horrible. I don't think any of us would have said such things about Illia. Frankly, I would never say such things about ANY of the skaters. It literally makes me sad for the state of this world.Okay can I just say I’m flabbergasted by some of the vitriol being spewed on FSU (I haven’t had the courage to check here or on Twitter but I’m guessing it’s the same).

That's an interesting point of view. Jason's short is a good point grabber. We'll see what happens. As for World's, I think that decision is a good compromise. Jason's goal was the Olympics. He's achieved that goal. He can take some time after the Olympics to figure out what he wants to do next. If they need him at World's he'll be ready. My loves! He did it! Oh, we knew he would, but I did not trust USFS, I did not trust them at all...
I've been waiting and waiting to come collapse in here. I had to log on for work, and sit through a meeting, on camera, a smile on my face, talking and alert and making decisions and rigidly not looking at my phone the whole time...
And when the meeting ended, and I could finally look, I was so afraid! I didn't want to look. When I scrolled up and saw Jackie's tweet I screamed I was so happy. But I've had to wait, and wait, and wait for my lunch break to come and be with you!
The more intelligent talk on FSU is that it might be a selection with the team event in mind. Nathan is not fully fit, he's had problems with his groin and hip all season. If that's so, they may not want to risk him in the team event - and they cannot take the risk on Vincent in both programs. But an untried Junior in the team event is just as much risk. So who to take? Why of course - the calm, steady, reliable skater who's never let them down, ever.
Oh no, I think Worlds is a terrible selection. Remember 2018? Well, if it happens again, and the rookie Junior stumbles, there'll be no veteran to save their blushes this time. Nathan/Jason/Ilia would have been a much safer Worlds choice. We'll see what happens. As for World's, I think that decision is a good compromise.
