Kazuki Tomono

I was thinking that this is the first time that Kazuki is the veteran and the main hope for team Japan in an big competition (I'm not considering Takahashi) ☺️ no Yuzu or Shoma, so he's the one the new guys are looking at and he has also a good chance of winning! I'm so excited!!!
What makes Kazuki a veteran? He certainly has it in him to continue to skate if that’s what he wants after this season.

Come on everyone lets send Kazuki one last message of encouragement before he takes the ice today for the short program.

Kazuki stand very still, take a deep breath and think good thoughts. I’m sending all my positive energy your way. Remember how well you have done in this season. You’ll show them. Go! Go! Go! ✊🏻 🇯🇵

I think Giu meant a veteran in comparison to the other two Japanese skaters (Kao and Sena), who are still teens and have less international experience than Kazuki.

Kazuki will be the 16th (second to last) to skate today, at 2:38pm local time (Eastern European Time). Wishing him the best of luck! 🍀🤞

When I say veteran I don’t mean someone that is going to retire after this season, I’m talking about someone that has already experience on the international stage, just like him. This is his fifth season as a senior so, compared to Kao and Sena, he’s definitely a veteran.

For everyone suffering from anxiety when Kazuki is competing, I invite you to become a Sota fan. You'll learn not to worry about Kazuki  No, seriously, he's been quite solid this season, so I am proud of him. He hasn't bombed in quite a long time, and he's learned to master his nerves quite nicely. I am confident he'll podium here. :)

From your lips to God's ears :pray::pray:

Do you know how his score place among all the SB of this season? Is he in the top 10?
Currently, he has the 13th highest SB this season, which is not bad at all - it should still be comfortably within the Top 24 even after Olympics and Worlds. But, of course, if he can update his SB now, even better! 🔥

First of all, his protocol: https://twitter.com/Tomono_Infonet/status/1484511477247938560
Glass half full: clean jumps and level 4 spins!
Glass half empty: WTH judge 6 and judge 8, how dare you lowball him in PCS and GOE respectively

Oh well. Kazuki also landed a gorgeous 4S yesterday in warmup: https://twitter.com/enseinikki/status/1484498464155308032
Pictures from yesterday's press conference:

Kazuki also did super well at today's practice, with a near clean run-through:

We are silver!!!!! :ghug::points:

I must admit I have hoped for that gold until the last second but I’ve never felt so happy for him in such a long time!! This past four years after Milano 2018 have been a rollercoaster of emotions and sometimes I’ve thought this moment would never come but look at our ramen boy, he’s the 4CC silver medalist!!!

I’m so proud of him!

Just so, so incredibly proud. So many feelings - remembering the pain of 4CC 2019 when he flopped, the outrage of 4CC 2020 when he was robbed, and now finally at 4CC 2022 he is 🥈, in close contention with a really class skater such as Junhwan Cha.

Yes those 4Ts were snakes today, but he managed to hold his nerves in check, and got a higher PB, 268.99! He has now the 10th best SB of the season, and 4th among the Japanese Men 🔥

I quote everything and also thank you for giving us the info about his PB before I had to ask!
