2022 Olympics Team Event Day1: Pairs Short Program

Wow judges were nasty not to give it to the Russians.

Home crowd advantage!

The Chinese were better on PCS. The Russians were better on technique.

To be honest the fact that Mishina/Galliamov are THAT close artistically to Sui/Han is a gift to Russia. I mean, they still got a PB themselves.

Also lawd, if we want to talk home crowd advantage, let's not forget Sochi's team event where Plushenko was put ahead of Reynolds/Machida and Lipnitskaia was put ahead of a clean Kostner. And if we're talking the individual events, S/K in pairs were given crazy high PCS, as were I/K in ID to get the bronze over P/B whose score was way lower than what they deserved. And Lipnitskaia getting 70 PCS with a fall over Asada which was just criminal, and of course Sotnikova....

Canada... it's okay...I forgive you. Roseline Filion on French CBC says Roman was training super well yesterday and he practically never missed his quad salchow yesterday... the commentators mention Keegan being still in Canada...and they said they trust Madeline to be solid :)

anyways... out of here for now.. will avoid the fighting as a fan of both Sui Han and MG :) no need for me to watch the war of words :)

imo Canada was never in the silver race, really just fighting for a medal, but I would say Japan is out of silver medal contention barring a few disasters.
Yes, K/F beating the Japanese in pairs and losing only one placement to the Russians is kind of a big deal. Couple that with an unexpected win in the free dance... this is just about as well as they could hope.

Of course, Mark giving up only two placements to Nathan is also a big deal.

You are so annoying with your junior team stuff. It was annoying at worlds last year, but not it´s ridiculous
Absolutely, preach it.

What's wrong with Nastya and Sasha's program? It's charming, it's light hearted and it's fun.

Why does skating have to be SRS BSNS programs for a team to get respect?

Nastya and Sasha had higher levels and harder elements, if it were anyone else but S/H the "Wuz robbed" would be off the charts.

I can't believe the Georgians are below the Canadians. The Canadians were just rubbish.

And I will also come out and say it, the Italians were crap. They've been crap all season, but at least make an effort it's THE OLYMPICS.

That´s just your opinion

We are here to share opinions. My opinion on the matter has been echoed by other experts and most other observers as well. So, it's not me who needs to change anything with regards to this. What actually needs to change is the scores, those PCS are not accurate for the differential in skating skills and artistry between these two teams.
