Hughes Follows Family Traditions

One extremely busy and talented young lady. I'm looking forward to seeing her compete at Nationals. Hope she has the performance(s) of her life - seems I remember a really super SP from last year.

Good luck to Emily.

I think that it's great that Emily is taking the time to go to school and have a "real" life. Even if it does take away from her level of skating, at least she will have something to do after her skating career is over.

yeah, besides 'acting'........................

Great article! Thanks for sharing... One thing that always impresses me about Emily, Michelle, Debbie, Todd, and other skaters is the understanding that skating is a part of their life's journey, not the final destination... can you imagine how sucky that would be? Your biggest accomplishment in life happened at 18? You'd end up like my hubby's friends who like to come over my house and yap about how great a linebacker they were in high school.... Pitiful.

Nice article on Emily. Does anyone know if her sister Sarah has finished at Yale yet? Thanks.............42

Received a press release about a half hour ago that Emily has withdrawn from Nationals due to a hip injury.

(If this has already been posted elsewhere apologies)

Sarah started at Yale after 2003 World's (probably Fall of 2003) and she took a year off to tour with SOI. So, she's probably in the midst of her junior year.

Therefore this year should be her senior year (or 4th year).
