ohhh I just watched the clip of the medal ceremony (on PeacockTV, US streaming) and I think I figured it out. He also had his hand over his heart for the US anthem... he must be becoming a US citizen!

ah, of course I'm kidding, but I wonder why he did that? Just copying Nathan, or maybe his heart felt full and it just seemed fitting? A sweet gesture either way, I'm sure 🥰
I noticed the hand over his heart too. I believe it was a show of respect for Nathan. Nathan and Shoma go way back to Juniors and have been on the same road together for a long time and I am sure Nathan feels the same way about Shoma.

I am suuuuuper late into this and I've been a mess of emotions all day but!!! Shoma 3 time Olympic medalist 😭😭 I can't believe it's true, yet it feels so natural! Such a huge and meaningful moment for him after all these years and struggles. I am immensely proud of him. Thank you Shoma for fighting, thank you for every time you got back up after falling!!

Congratulations to our 3 times Olympic medalist!! 🎉👏😭

2 PBs, 2 medals and happy Shoma. I’m happy. It’s been such a tough road. Not his best FS of course but it will fire him up for Worlds (and I hope to be there and cheer him up in person) and for the next season. He seems more eager than ever to improve and to compete, so we still have many competitions ahead of us 😊

Yawning_shoma translated a lot of his postFS interviews (thank you so much 🙏)

He doesn't worry about this and neither should you. People have been beating him up online since forever. He's used to it. He even said he doesn't care about the opinions of people who don't even know him. He cares about those who know him personally. Just enjoy the

🎢ride. Nathan and Yuma will get plenty of bashing too. Meanwhile, the three medalists will show others what sportsmanlike conduct looks like.
Glad to hear it that he doesn’t care about others opinions except those close to him. There will always be people who will say all kinds of nasty negative things to hurt someone but not paying attention to those but instead focusing on the good people in life that truly know you and are a part of your life are the ones to focus on and care about.

I always thought I loved Shoma and Yuzu equally and that I could not choose one of them. Today I watched Yuzu's performance hoping that he could make a comeback but, as soon Shoma stepped on the ice, my heart skipped a bit and I realized that, above all, I wanted Shoma to come home with a medal. I don't know if this is just because Yuzuru has already accomplished everything and will always remembered as the greatest, but I had no doubt, I was supporting Shoma. He has something that goes beyond his technical abilities, he creates a connection with the spectator and, every time he skates, he's one with the music and I feel like he's taking me by hand to skate with him. How he does that I don't know...

This is just to say that I'm so proud and happy that Shoma was able to podium again, I can't wait to see what's next!!! I will always trust him!!!

I am not sure why but I am sad that the men's competition is over. I am so happy for Shoma and Yuma yet I want to see more. Feel sad for Yuzu, he has been eclipsed by Shoma and Yuma at this competition. However I am delighted Shoma medalled. Such conflicting, muddled feelings. Sorry if I am not making much sense.

Shoma and Yuma had a lot of interviews last night after the Medal Ceremony, and they have more this morning! I'm not Japanese nor am I good at Japanese, so I recommend following these accounts for translations and footage/article links:

- feimeicheng at Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/feimeicheng/

- shoma_uno_ at Twitter: https://twitter.com/shoma_uno_ (lots of RTs of Japanese articles too)

Also, please pray for Shoma to be able to make it to the Gala in 10 days without running out of food :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

as if i haven't cried enough, unowan uploads a video chronicling shoma's journey from a preemie baby in the NICU to him as a decorated skater right now

From a baby who fit in the palm of his father's hand(weighing less than 2 pounds) to an Olympic medalist. Could he be any more of an inspiration? I am ugly crying! :console:

A very sweet message from Stephane Coach!
