At this point I can see that many countries would be happy if 90% of the score was artistic and 10% technical (with rules like allowing only 3 triple jumps in programs and only double jumps). I know, it sounds absurd, but even in this scenario I can see girls like Kamila standing out on the field.

Their talent will not be above any other country if they are all on a level playing field with no doping. They will still find away to cheat. Russia got away with a slap on the wrist the last time they were caught . They were allowed to go to the Olympics in Beijing under strict rules but rules didn’t matter. They found a way to break them. This time it will be different because they will probably be banned from participating in any other event for years…just wait and see.
I would not be surprised, the discourse that is being handled is that pushing girls to do quadruple jumps is causing all this. Yes, of course, because they are women and it is not possible for them to perform this type of jump, because only with abuse can a girl be able to land an ultra-C element. Really all this is so disgusting for the progress of women's figure skating. There are people who are still trapped in the 90's and hope that they continue to see that in competition, anyway.

Look at many cases like these : one of the recent ones Laurence Vincent-Lapointe : tested positive for traces of Ligandrol. 13 times world champion... never tested positive before... Never tested positive after... even just a few days later. She was suspended right away, while she was set up to compete at worlds. This messed up the quota qualification for the country for Tokyo games. Still, not allowed to compete. Then, it took her several months to demonstrate how she had been contaminated without her knowing. After testing everything she had at home, creams, legal drugs, food, etc, she found out her ex BF had used a supplement. She never took it herself. However, it was proven that this supplement contaminated her through exchange of body fluids. They tested hair for that. They found out precisely when that happened. A lot of time and resources were spent on this. In the meantime, the athlete was not allowed to compete at all.... or even train with the national team. It took her about 2 years (covid didn't help) before she could compete again.. and still then, it was a mess because quota qualification spots for Tokyo almost meant she could not participate.
and what about if only ONE of these 29 athletes says NO ... then it's a NO ? Because why would Kamila's voice matter more than only ONE of these women?
thanks for clarifying! I recognize that this doesn't apply in Kamila's case and of course she isn't a criminal defendant. Since her parents aren't there, I sincerely hope she has someone looking out for her interests -- as opposed to the IOC, ROC, RUSADA, etc.

Sorry but it just makes me laugh reading this, I'm not Russian but reading all this kind of anti-Russia argument is funny. Do you really think that if such a regime existed, they would invest it in a sport like figure skating? Let me tell you that you will be surprised when you see in a few months that TT will not be found guilty and that Russia will be allowed in the next Olympics. A doping case with too many loose ends about the sample analysis times will not be reason enough to eliminate Russia from the international scene, you will see.

Oh, I'd bet they are speaking up, just behind the scenes in private, so they aren't targeted as big meanies trying to victimize a 15-year-old (you know that's how the Russian propaganda machine would characterize it; heck they are already trying to claim she is the victim of some kind of western conspiracy). So I'm sure they aren't sitting in silence, they're just not issuing press releases.
