Here is a message from someone trapped in the 80's
1/ I don't think we have seen quads by women yet. I remember seeing quads by teenagers. If AS or AT can jump quads at 19 with the bodies of 19yo young women, I may change my mind. As for 3A, it is still very rare by women and not by teenagers. I will not elaborate, I would not be accurate enough in English... For instance, I remember reading posts from people stating that AZ had "bloated". Leaving aside how disrespectful it is, in fact she has not "bloated": we had "known" her with a childish body and now she has become a woman - but she is not skating anymore.
2/ Every time I saw sportswomen with results close to sportsmen's, it ended with a doping scandal. Just a side remark: last Monday, after the team event, I read that the German commentator had called KV a Wunderkind. Unfortunately, on Tuesday, she had become a new Wundermädchen. There is nothing to be proud of, all the less because she would most certainly be the best even without quads - and maybe even better on other aspects of figure skating.
3/ Believe it or not, in the 80's or the 90's, people did watch and enjoy figure skating with women not jumping quads, and sometimes not jumping triples! Unbelievable!
