Kamila Valieva: Anti-doping Case and Follow-ups

I haven't watched "women's" figure skating for a while because I don't like the way "women's" skating is nowadays. Now as part of the olympics started following the news of this thing, and what the hell, a positive doping test and the person still get's to compete! I will watch the pairs but definitely not "women's". My favourite sport is cross-country skiing, there has been doping there too, but they also have had sanctions.

People who do not understand that:

1. Kamila has been clean in her tests in Beijing.
2. There is no basis that she is guilty, so they cannot take away her opportunity to compete.
3. Let's imagine that she is innocent (there was a problem with the sample for example), the mental damage by not letting her compete would be irreparable.
4. It was not her fault that she was not notified in time of this adverse result (nor was RusFed's).
If she had tested positive in Beijing she would have been automatically disqualified, but this is not the case.

Wishing Kamila the best in the individual event. Kamila strength!

It is...

I mean I'm already wondering if all the schools in Russia do this? I pray not, but this will be the next thing social media latches onto.

After all, surely the other coaches of Russia should be horrified at this, but it's just crickets.:(
You shouldn't wonder. Russian people are not stupid. They know they are under scutiny after the 2014 Olympics debacle. It is highly unlikely that this is some sort of wide spread operation. After all, these girls are tested all the time and Kamila was clean at the Olympics AND after Europeans.

We all have to wait and see the explanation for this. Clearly some adult(s) person is involved. But will we ever find out who?

Let's hope her mind has taken a breather. This news happening before the skate should help.

The Chinese, Japanese have different training methods, scolding children is acceptable as long as there is no physical harm. I think western children it is considered abuse even to raise an adult voice

Yes but can you appreciate the argument that children don't really get a proper say in the matter,
and western countries manage to brew just as many worthy champions?

what I'm asking is to please not ridicule or dismiss the notion that people from different
countries can feel compassion for what they view as mistreatment of innocents no matter where they come from.

So apparently Tara and Johnny commented live on NBC or Peacock or somewhere that they both oppose the decision. Except because Tara Lipinski is literally incapable of not making things about herself, she felt the need to slip in "...I know what it's like to go to the Olympics at 15." :rolleye:

Look, if I can't enjoy the event anymore at least I can enjoy my new party game, "Try To Bring Any Skating Headline Back Around To Tara Lipinski's Gold Medal in Nagano."
