Kamila Valieva: Anti-doping Case and Follow-ups

I don't think FBI has any chance to touch Eteri. It's just a message to Eteri, don't come or you will get some trouble. It's more likely that Eteri coaches team won't get travel visa approval in United States and beyond.
The only way is to get Chinese police (even with some bulls** excuse) to arrest TT for child abuse before they leave Beijing. But I don't think it will work...

Edit: i mean "pretext," not "excuse"

See Fanof's link: it is a "handsome sum." Not a millionaire technically, but among Russian conditions she will be a rather wealthy young lady.
:rolleye: What are you smoking over there? In Moscow or St Petersburg you won't even get an apartment for $52,800 . In the suburbs perhaps. But not a decent house for sure. A decent car, yes. Not sure what's your idea of "wealthy" but that's not what they call "wealthy" in Moscow.

Here in Czech Republic even $250 000 would hardly be enough for an apartment in Prague so you're still good

Out of curiosity how much is an apartment in Moscow?

I am not smoking over anything. And I said RUSSIA not Moscow. Moscow is one of the most expensive cities of the world globally. But you can buy an apartment for instance in Perm for the fifth of the price in Moscow.

And I am not smoking over anything becuase I did not say olympic champions do not deserve it.

I'd say at twice this money you can get a small one or a somewhat bigger in poor condition. And far from a good neighborhood. On the other hand, Moscow doesn't have those real "bad neighborhoods" like in US cities. In Moscow they're far from the center but at least they're not dangerous or all junkyard.

OK in Perm you can buy an apartment but still that's not "wealth" by any standard in Russia. That's just not India or Bangladesh - with all due respect to both these countries.

I didn't watch the women's event because I couldn't support abuse. But I saw enough comments about the event to know it was traumatic to say the least. I really hope that even though Valieva didn't medal the investigation will go on. Those young women deserve better than to be treated badly by their coach and be doping guinea pigs. It really doesn't matter who won, the big issues are still at play. I hope WADA actually does something and the CAS actually allows real actions to be taken. If not, more young woman and girls will be abused, and this sport will be tainted..

Sorry, I pressed enter too early...

I am also an expert either... but I am also pretty sure Canada would oblige... I can imagine for instance that Japan and France would also oblige to such an ask and collaborate...
And then Russian skaters would be not allowed to skate at Skate America, Skate Canada, NHK Trophy, Internationaux de France...
Yes, I think this is quite possible.

As long as they do not test positive and there is no evidence presented of systematic doping in their training program, there's zero reason to ban Sasha or Anna or Liza from international competition. They should expect more 'random' tests that are not actually random but that's the price for trying to make the system fairer to all involved in the sport.

The odds are non-zero others in TT have dabbled in TMZ but that's a long way from any real proof that they did anything wrong.

I haven't read the US-anti-doping law but would be interested to know if it allows for injured parties to sue for cciviil damages in US Courts. Because if it does, there are probably an infinite number of US lawyers that would be willing to take on Loena Hendrickx as a client on a contingency basis (no legal fee up front but the lawyer gets about 1/3 of any legal settlement reached in a civil court) over a claim that she suffered damages because she was only 4th at Euros behind a doper rather than being a medalist that would have been better positioned to get sponsorships ahead of Beijing.
