Anybody watching --- I was just walking out of the room to do something when I HEARD Michelle Kwan's voice and was like YIPPY, she's finally back!!!! Cute fluff, no?

Poor Caroline - she really did look so tight and slow - I hope she totally puts that behind her and really just goes out and does a clean LP

So far, I'm really underwhelmed. I really miss the ESPN/ABC coverage from last year. :frown:
 
Does anyone know the nbc schedule for today? Am watching it righ now....but when will the ladies free skating?
 
She is cute, and her program was great, powerful and just so energetic. I love the youthful aura she is allowed to have - her costumes are often not romantic-chiffon or dramatic, but just colourful and pretty. Her SP-costume is so nice, like a dress a girl her age would wear on a summers day.

But was that a over 70 short program? It was great, but I think she got a little overmarked due to the fact that there were so many mistakes in the other programs.
 
Did you guys hear Rachel say "Good luck Chrissy!" to Chrissy Hughes. Very nice to see such support.
 
It was fun to watch those SP's -- First time for me watching katrina and WOW; Rachel Flatt really impresses me - and she was hilarious in the 'truth booth'....Mirai is stunning, but I did think her scores were 'nationals inflated'. I feel for Caroline - they showed her watching the rest of the SP's and she looked sad, and alone, too me. Here's hoping she just enjoys today. Kimmie is a fighter so I'm not worried. Good luck to all the young women!!!!

Why is there so much advertising between the programs? And what kind of shows do the US have? American Gladiator? I have never watched American TV before - but it's hilarious. You can watch it for the show previews and the advertisements alone...

I thought Ashley's program was really great. Loved the expression, her enthusiasm. Right now she seems like a real contender for the best US-placement in the Worlds .

Why did they stop broadcasting? When will it start again?

I felt so bad for OO too!! It was as if she was saying, "It's all down hill from here." Poor thing. I did see her wearing her lucky green dress at the practice session though, so I wouldn't be surprised if she landed a quad in the long. :p

I thought the Kwan-Zhang coverage was cool...it looked as though Kwan was raising a mini me to pick up where she left off.
 
I thought the TV coverage was pretty good. I liked how they let the girls talk about their programs without having to be asked annoying interview questions.

Keauna and Rockne were gorgeous. I love them. I&B also skated well for being out for a while. The marriage proposal seemed so awkward though. I couldn't tell what her reaction was.


I can't believe how slow Caroline skated. Her standing double axel was crazy. Kimmie skated well and fast, aside from that bad triple flip. Mirai was great! I loved her age appropriate program. Rachael is a little too over the top for me-- much too old hairstyle and overdone facial expressions. Wagner's flutz is terrible. Did they really not deduct for it? Still, I am impressed with her consistency and the way she attacks her jumps

off topic: hey, Am not fom the USA either but I adore your covarge! it's so interactive and funny...:rock: especially the trooth both!:agree:...our commentators are only speaking and they are not shown on tv...there are no live interview with the skaters or the great explenation of why the judges did this or this...like tracy show us....really great":biggrin:

Me too now they cut everyone off and I really wanted to watch bebe and alissa maybe nbc will get the pic cuz their gonna cut off the other ladies probably during the free and only show the top 5 now
 
As far as Rachel is concerned

Once upon a time in the world of figure skating, skaters used to be told to SMILE.! Mainly because it looked as if they were actually enjoying themselves out there. Also, when you smile, you relax. I did not think Rachel Flatt was over the top-I thought she should have won the short program-she has a bit more polish then Mirai and the program itself was solid.

I like the coverage, especially the slo mo of the flipped edges and jump cheating. Scotty is a bit off the mark, but whoever is with him is generally on the mark as to under rotation, flutzing, Zhangs slow slow slow speed etc.

I noticed that Ashley was out of breath in the short...doesn't bode well for the long.
 
And scott hamilton is just crazy! he is always screaming loudly when some skater nails some good jump...I remember watching Tara Lipinski winning olympics gold skate at nagano on youtube with his commentary.. he was like to have orgasm or something:rofl::rofl::rofl:
