(Clockwise) There are olympic champions, there is an olympic champion, there are olympic champions and - there is not an olympic champion. Thank you ISU for "unifying people".

I'm really lost for words. The omission is childish and pathetic. Who cannot face the facts and is rewriting history now? I think the same of the ISU as I do of the IOC. 🤬

If they let Zhilina jump with broken leg, I somehow do not believe it would be a problem with Zinina.
Zhilina didn't jump. She was on the ice but she didn't jump for a few months.
She also didn't have a broken leg, but an ankle ligament injury (which can be more difficult to heal in some ways).

But do you know who jumped with a broken bone? Plushenko Jr. He jumped doubles with a broken arm that was still in a sling and definitely not fully healed.

That's it, the reason is obviously completely different and this statement only covers it.

I don't particularly have a lot of trust in Plushenko, he mentioned her parents influence, my guess they will distinguish that Zhilina's mother is an AoP coach Zinina's parents are not. IF his statement is true.

I believe several of AoP's students in the past that have left have given almost verbatim statements on why they left and a lot of us speculated that they have NDAs. Also Zinina has deleted the message she posted refuting Plushenko's statement. So we might never get the truth of the situation.

I smell Rudkovskaya's trace in that.

I don't necessarily disagree with NDAs, but I do wish that there was a reciprocating agreement, so if Zinina or any other skater is legally unable to say the real reason they left/anything negative about the situation then the coaches and anyone else affiliated should be held to the same standard

You know, I find it very amusing how everyone in this thread acts as though ISU officials sat down in Phuket, got drunk and randomly decided to ban Russian athletes because they felt like it. I mean, talk about wilfull ignorance.

I'm pretty sure that's what happened on the "progressive" age limits where the cut date moves as the same pace as the skater aging.

Or he subscribes to the same mentality as Zhilina's mother - Ruin your own kids, but leave others' kids alone. (After all, you could get sued ;))

Some people seem to be of the opposite mentality, they protect their own kids, but seemingly couldn't care less about their underage athletes' health as long as they win (not just figure skating and not just Russia).

Don't understand either, and neither is better than the other, but always interesting to see such different mentalities in the same spaces.

Then there is still a space for "after a mutual agreement we decided to part ways in a friendly way", while this sounds like poor Zinina is a naughty girl who disobeys her coaches well meant instructions.

I won't.
I'm superhappy for Anna: she deserves the best the world has to offer in any situation. I have a limitless admiration for her and her approach to life and competition.
She also surely deserved a better enviroment around her in the peak moment of her career.
But what happened to Kami made me almost abandon skating as a fan.
To see her cry on the ice and lose all the motivation and the desire to skate and compete was hard on me: I tried to put myself in her shoes and understand but i could not even get close to it.
It should have been a devastating trauma

Angels of Plushenko has terminated cooperation with Anastasia Zinina

She wasn't delivering. Its a shame

I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, but something isn't sitting right. The fact that she's blocked from saying her truth speaks volumes.
