^^^ Mmmm, so cryptic. But I surmise that ISU and IOC wanted a thorough investigation. Now it seems clear why skaters weren't rewarded any medals in the team comp. Officials didn't want to have to make readjustments later. Sucks for the athletes being able to enjoy the award ceremony in the moment. But, I'm happy for Canada if they move up to bronze medal position.

Big surprise about Evelyn, but if this is the right thing for her then I wish her the best. Hope Trennt can find a good new partner.

--- ---- ----

Earlier this summer, it was reported that Sofia Val had teamed up with Alexandr Gnedin and they were going to compete in junior dance for Spain, with Hurtado/Khaliavin involved in their coaching. In the replies to that tweet, Sara said "We are working for it to happen. Nothing is official yet, but we will be really excited to be part of this." And Hielo Español said "Beware: for this couple you have to wait a bit because they still don't have the release, nor the papers arranged" [this is the Google translate version, since the original tweet was in Spanish].

I noticed today that Alexandr's bio on Ice Partner Search was updated recently (July 31st), so it seems like that partnership may not have worked out.

I am honestly not surprised at all... It was going to be a split or a retirement for Evelyn. I hope Trennt will find a great partner as I always felt he was the better skater in that team. Thanks to Evelyn for representing Canada and her dedication to the sport for all these years !

The only surprise to me is that it comes just a few weeks after the GP assignments. I am sure Skate Canada will replace them swiftly but who knows if the UK will do that... and that will most likely not be with a Canadian pair...

Interesting that Canada has two competent pairs men... not partnered at this moment... it's usually the opposite...

New Ice Dance team

Elisabetta Incardona/Rafael Marc Drozd Musil.
They will skate for Denmark. They train in Fusar Poli's group
which means that they will probably never compete at the Olympics.... if we trust the story of FBS.

As I dont know what FBS is I though you were quoting a story
FBS are the dance team Fournier Beaudry/Sørensen. They previously represented Denmark (Sørensen’s country of origin) but Fournier Beaudry (Canadian) was denied citizenship and therefore they couldn’t attend the 2018 Olympics. They switched to Canada, Sørensen was able to gain Canadian citizenship and they finally got to go to the Olympics this year.

haha... yeah.. sorry.. it's true that FBS could look like CBS or PBS ;) I was indeed talking about Fournier-Beaudry and Sorensen. Denmark is probably not a good pick to attempt to make an Olympic team, unless you were born there.

Billy Wilson French is back on Ice Partner Search seeking a new partnership. He lists Carol Lane's group as his current training base.
