Anya surgery already finished - "The operation took place today. Of course, I was worried, but the doctors say that everything went well," Shcherbakova said. - Thank you to everyone who was worried and supported. And special thanks to our Figure Skating Federation for helping and taking care of my health"
I think the best Russian figure skaters and gymnasts often went to Germany for surgery before the sanctions took place. It´s nothing new. They have probably made good experiences with some doctors in Germany.
Usain Bolt came to Germany to treat his back injury as well. He always went to Dr. Müller-Wohlfarth, who was the team doctor of FC Bayern Munich.
So I don´t think it´s special that Anna came to Germany to get her surgery.
So far my thoughts in test skates for the Junior ladies SP:
I like Veronika Z's short program I just wish she was a little bit more expressive for this type of program especially with the music choice. Hopefully at least by the time she gets to seniors that part improves. She's still struggling a bit with her 3-3 rotations since the past injury I believe so her landing on that combo was under.
I enjoyed Elizaveta Kulikova's SP music. I like the crescendo and faster pace when the step sequence hits.
I am not sold on Sofia T's or Alisa Dvoeglazova's SP programs but with time I think they will both grow on me maybe. I do not like the music choice for Alice. I was a bit disappointed in that choice for her. Her performance was overall good (besides the slight error all the way at the end), but the music did not resonate for me.
Sofia T's music in my opinion did not fit her, and it seemed like it was difficult to keep up with the faster tempo. Finished behind while chasing the music. High tempo is not for every skater (or most skaters actually). Hopefully this program grows and she sells the faster tempo better and does not chase the music. Her spins are also in need of more speed.
I liked Veronika Y's fast tempo SP music and her slide on queue with the music before continuing on with the step sequence. However I could tell she was a bit tired right towards the end and trying to push through. She also struggled to push the combo after that step out. Hoping for a cleaner skate for her in the FS.
Both Veronikas struggled on the combo today.
Lyubov's SP was nice and clean. Solid performance from her.
Anastasia Z's program is a good fit for her in my opinion, she sells it, and I like the way she performed it. Her twizzles in the step sequence though could use a little bit more speed.
When Alina G was performing and "Cruella" came on halfway my mind immediately went to Trusova. I just couldn't help it and it made me smile. Anyways great performance from Alina. She went for a 3-2 instead of a 3-3 combo which isn't the best idea for the short, but I think she's only doing that in test skates.
I like the blues choice for Maria Zakharova's SP. She's great, but unfortunately there is no successful ultra-c for her in her free I believe so she most likely won't be a solid contender for the podium in Juniors. If she has one it would be a game changer for her
With Sofia A out no one performed a trixel combo but the performances were still beautiful. My top four for the junior ladies SP at test skates today are Anastasia Z, Veronika Y, Maria Z, and Elizaveta K.
"Okay here we go! *inhales* if I am correct here are all the jumps that the contending or significant junior ladies landed (that haven't already been mentioned) at Junior Test Skates:
Alisa Dvoeglazova: 4Lz+2A, 3Lo, 3Lz+1Eu+3S, 3F (Also attempted a solo 4Lz but underrotated and fell)
Sofia Titova: 3S+2T, 3Lo, 3Lz+3T
Veronika Zhilina: 4S, 4T+2T, 3Lz+1Eu+3S, 3Lo (Also attempted another 4S and fell, and popped a 3A to 2A)
Maria Zakharaova: 2A, 3Lz+3T, 3Lz+1Eu+3S, 3F+2T, 3Lo (Also attempted a 4T but fell).
Anastasia Zininia: 2A, 3T+2T, 3Lo, 3F, 3Lz+3T+2A, 3Lz+3Lo
(P.S. Removing Danill becuase then I would have to cover Arseny and other Eteri boys too, and ladies is enough right now)"
The updated/restored, as seen from video or news, jumps of Russian Ladies 2022-23 (As of 8/19/22):
All jumps will now be categorized in the following order:
On Ice Highest BV solo jump
All subsequent 2 jump and then 3 jump combos including that solo jump in descending base value, if there are none proceed to the solo or combo jump with the next highest base value.
Next highest BV solo jump
All subsequent 2 jump and then 3 jump combos including that solo jump in descending base value, if there are none proceed to the solo or combo jump with the next highest base value.
And so on until all on ice jumps are listed
Then all the on ice, in harness, jumps in identical fashion
Then all the out of harness, off ice solo jumps and their subsequent 2 jump and then 3 or more jump combos according to the combos' descending base values.
Then all the in harness, off ice solo jumps and their subsequent 2 jump and then 3 or more jump combos according to the combos' descending base values
I think a lot of the senior ladies will sit out of the test skate. We know Anna and Alena are out with surgery. We havent heard much from Alexandra in terms of new programs and she's been busy on holiday and shows. I think it will just be Kamila and the new juniors. Honestly this season is such a pointless brick wall for the Russian ladies

Well the new seniors have been inconsistent and it seems to be equaling itself out with injuries to different skaters and umm appearances of not being hard-core driven right now.
They’re competitive people and want to be best. I think Anna if you look at her weight gain is retired or gave up on this season before it started, Sasha I don’t know but doesn’t seem serious.
All last season they were defeated by Kamila every time they went out there except once and we know the reason for that. It must hurt their motivation.
But Kamila and Liza seem fully committed and there’s a lot of younger skaters ready to make a name for themselves.
The standard needed to win the Russian Nationals for women will be much higher than for the world championships.

Lol what? Her body has changed a lot and she's spending time between dance classes, meetings, and parties.
Last time they'd seen her in Khrustalnyi, Eteri was a brunette.

Yes, they are highly competitive though I don't think Anna is giving up however she does need to rest until fully healed. No need to rush this process.
We'll see what happens when it happens.
Liza does seem more committed based on the posted training videos, but Eteri skaters often surprise and surpass expectations (like Anna and Trusova did during the olympic season despite injury. It seemed like they would not make it at all or even persevere, but they did or Adelia being unofficially the first woman in the world to successfully land a quad loop jump).
Based on junior test skates most of the ladies crashed in the free with not a single one having a clean ultra-c skate. No one. Alissa D of teamtut was the only one to land the hardest element there (quad lutz), but she still crashed on the second solo 4lz and did not dare attempt her newly acquired trixel. The Juniors are still very inconsistent on ultra-c elements for now, and the seniors need not worry about them yet. Maybe later as the season progresses when they gain consistency with successful clean ultra-c programs the seniors will clutch their positions.
Senior Test skates is a good opportunity for the upcoming juniors who recently turned senior. The seasoned seniors have shown their top form. Trusova has displayed her prowess at the Olympics with 5 landed quads. Anna is the Olympic champion with the most consistency of the current seniors while performing quads. There should be no doubt concerning their positions on the national team so there is no need for Anna and Trusova to fear or prove themselves (unless they lost all their jumps). Let them relax for test skates. We all know what they are capable of. It is the new seniors who must prove and secure their position on the national team against the internationally undefeated past seniors and the seniors who were not chosen. We do not know what they are fully capable of whereas the same cannot be said for Anna and Trusova who seem to relax now compared to the rest of the field.
Maiia has been super unstable even on basic triple jumps her first senior season so she has something to prove to keep her spot in reserves or move to the main team. Has she become more consistent now? We'll see. Daria's first season was cut very short after her injury and she as of current still has no ultra-c elements that we know of so she has something to prove to keep her spot in reserves. Is she still reliable and consistent? Maybe at test skates we'll see a glimpse. Kami---well we all know what happened her first senior season so given those circumstances her commitment is most likely stronger than ever. However, I have mainly seen Kami in shows and dance classes as of late; much less in training so not as determine as Liza is this season I guess? Adelia, and Sofia M are the newcomers and so have more to prove or showcase that they are deserving of their spots on the main national team over not only the reserves but other overlooked seniors.
All these women have more to prove than Anna and Trusova so they cannot relax as much as them.
Alena should not relax at all as she is even more vulnerable and at risk in reserves than Liza, but given the old hip injury issue and the upcoming surgery for it there is no way to push herself to show her skills at test skates so it is better to focus on recovery and then after successfully healing focus on restoring jumps.
Liza was defeated by everyone at RusNats last season with the exception of Maia and Sofia M who imploded so of course she should be more determined to show what she'll bring to the table at test skates.
She is up against the quadsters yet again---2 of which (Kami and Sofia M) also can push a triple axel in the short as well as the free along with their quads. Adelia also has a triple axel yet to be seen in competition so she might debut it at test skates. These ladies (Adelia and Sofia M) are now senior with more difficult elements and better PCS in terms of speed and skating skills than Liza.
Liza must pull out all the stops this season with a successful clean quad and hope that Maiia does not gain any consistency or else her spot on the main national team might be up for grabs next season. She cannot relax if she wants to remain on top. I do not think she should worry about Daria in reserves yet until she gains a consistent ultra-c. If Anna or Trusova retired it would be a different case for Liza who even with less ultra-c out of the bunch is still a very strong competitor, but they have not retired so she must push harder to keep up with the younger generations---and that's what she's doing.
I do not know about Samodelkina since she is injured. Has she recovered? Will she be at test skates in September?
Yes I agree that the standard for Russian Nationals will be higher than that of Worlds which is why Liza is so determined with trying to land quads and does not want to have a repeat of last season's Russian Nationals (or in her case all the other seasons of RusNats really). May she surpass expectations this season and succeed with all the extra training and effort she's pushing.
Hopefully the women at Senior test skates fair better with their ultra-c elements than the juniors did.

I’m not sure she’s been at parties lately but I don’t follow it that closely.
I think she’s training often from what I’ve seen.
Yes Kamila is bigger since the Olympics but as a 15 year old she was bigger than 17 year old Anna and Sasha. Kamila is quite muscular especially her quad muscles. She’s a genuine athlete that could excel at any sport she commits to. She’s probably going to be one of the largest skaters going forward, but she’s such an explosive and powerful athlete I think she can overcome it all.
Sasha at the Olympics to do five quads was quite thin I don’t think she can recreate that very thin build and Anna is a completely different body shape since the Olympics. She struggled to do quads and couldn’t do a triple axel when she was thin she’s going to struggle unless she loses the weight she’s gained which I don’t think will happen. She’s achieved everything and couldn’t beat Kamila at all last season until the Olympics FS. She is smart and knows the same will happen this season against Kamila. Better to go out on top than suffer an inevitable defeat to Kamila who is her main rival (there’s clearly some kind of issue between the two as well they don’t get along so it is personal as well).

Never mind it seems that Sofia S is back on the ice and in training according to the video below with her new coach at CSKA. If she's more consistent with her ultra-c this season someone might be losing their spot on the Senior National team.
