The choreo is gorgeous. As for the jumps, the warm-up was way better.

I like this program for Gleb. However, it clearly needs a lot of work. He didn't attempt his signature +3Lo combo.

Masha Gordeeva kind of feels like a case of Sofia Samodelkina mixed with Veronika Zhilina to me - And I'm not sure if that's a good or bad sign

It's a great success for her. And I also have to say, she has improved steadily all throughout the last season, just narrowly missing out on qualifying for Older age novice nationals (she was seventh, with the first 6 qualifying).

Oh dear Maria Z is really struggling she was injured prior to test skates so I doubt she is fully in form

Same. She's only managed to land it like once or twice ever since she started attempting it.

Oh dear Lyuba just tends to disintegrate whenever she is ahead after the short

So, Lyuba's plan for this season is a 2x 3A + 4Lo-Free skate...
I'm not sure that's wise, she struggled with even just one or two 3As last season. If the 4Lo works out better (and from this attempt, I would almost say it does), they should switch out one of the 3As for it instead of adding it on top.

Damn, these ordinals are looking very alike to the usual ordinals for (junior) men This event has been another lesson in why a cleaner skate with less difficult content often leads to a higher placement.

And Nika does just make the podium. Really happy for Masha Mazur and Liza Kulikova as well. Also, Milana must be just about the youngest skater here (she was born on the 29th of June 2010), and managed to place fourth, what a great success for her as well.
