Sounds like they just have a mic in the hall without mixing it with the source, as it's often done.

I hate it when the take the music direct from the source, because you don't get to hear the reactions of the audience. And that can play a part in the performance, and it's impact. (e.g. if a skater is having a disasterous performance, they can get encouragement from the audience).

Ok, it must be the audio, Ted and Mark are also sounding very tinny.

Ted isn't in the arena. He's at home in Vancouver. Only Mark is on site.

And I know of one skater who is going to be upset at this, because they were looking forward to meeting Ted.
