Very hard to do and that is on purpose. Try and buy a TV with HDMI output you can plug into a recorder. If you have an old enough TV like PaulE, with RCA output jacks, it can be done.....

It is actually not the TV with RCA jacks. I was lucky enough to buy a 2018 ROKU device in 2019 that still had the RCA jacks (yellow, red, and white) as an output as well as HDMI. The RCA jacks were there so the ROKU could be connected to an old tube type TV. My ancient Magnavox (made by Funai) hard disk and DVD recorder accepts the RCA input for recording. I think Funai stopped making the hard disk recorder for the American market 8 - 10 years ago and the 2018 ROKU device disappeared 3 years ago.
Fortunately my TIVO TV receiver is also old enough to have RCA jacks as an output option so most of what I have recorded recently is only what was broadcast by NBC on one of their cable channels. So in this new world of equipment I don't know how one would accomplish recording of skating—I guess I am just lucky to be an old man with lots of electronic junk I have collected

If you have RCA output (like on your DVR), you can buy a device that you attach to your computer that captures the output and makes a DVD. That's provided you have a computer that can make DVDs! We did it for one of the Olympics to give our daughter a DVD of a couple of the competitions.
Off topic, but if you have an older car with no auxiliary input to the audio system, you can get a device that takes input from an external device and puts out a weak FM signal. You can use this to get your ipad or phone or other device to sing to you or tell you where to go through the car's audio system. A few years ago, they used an RCA jack to connect to the external device, but now most of them are bluetooth.

We Want Our Figure Skating Broadcasts that we paid for!!!! All of them!!!! And we want them on demand, as promised!!!!

Thanks for your reasoned take. But where are all the broadcasts that NBC took down last season??? Why aren't we receiving transparent, up-to-date information well in advance of events, so we can effectively navigate the season? US figure skating has a responsibility to ensure adequate service and event coverage is provided to fans, especially after their abrupt disposal of IceNetwork!

(if anyone wants to be rich, invent a device that goes inline between a device like a Roku, etc and the HDMI input of a Telly. All this device has to do is provide an HDMI output one can connect to a recording hard drive. Then, all streaming can be recorded and time shifted in the same manner as a video cassette recorder did.)

I agree this is getting ridiculous. I should not be this difficult to watch figure skating in the US. There is no schedule of when the GP events are going to be streamed live and no chance to catch up latter either with the replay issue. How hard is for NBC/Peacock to put up a list of dates and times for the figure skating events that they are planning to show. Last year this was up by August and the year before that during a pandemic no less it was up by mid-September. When skating fans are going to VPN's to ensure they can watch the events that should be a big wake up call if not to NBC at least the USFS should really care because it killing the sport and draining the life blood of it. Many little kids who may have picked up the sport because of the Olympics exposure do need see skating on some regular basis to keep their interest up and keep them working at it and bring more young skaters in. Look how shallow the talent pool has become in the US in the last few years. We have a 17 year boy holding up the mantel of men's skating. Several women in their mid 20's and two teenagers and almost nothing in between for the ladies event. Pairs has the World Champions and mostly junior level skaters who are just moving up to the senior level. US Ice Dance is only discipline that is fairly healthy and even there the USFS is seriously looking a Russian team because the girl has dual citizenship.
All the issues with just trying watch the sport in the US is not helping it any. What is real shame is that this could be the year where the US could finally become relevant in figure skating again. I really think this is year where the US could medal in every event in the world championships including the ladies event, that alone could really help because many say that we need a US lady to be a real Olympic contender to get the American Fanbase interested in the sport again and it seems like NBC is doing everything in their power to prevent this from happening which is going to come back and bit them in their butts because it will affect the Olympic rating numbers because figure skating is the marquee event that draws viewers and if they do know who is competing they may not watch.
I feel really sorry for the US skaters of his quad because all NBC and USFS is doing is ruining their careers before they get started, What a shame because some of the US skaters are out of this world. We have the first man to ever to land a quad Axel in competition and he just 17 years old and who know what he will be doing by 2026 and leading contender at this early date to win the gold medal there. Two young girls who could be face of US figure skating for the next decade and one them could have an Olympic medal around their neck. US Pairs and Dance teams who could surprise us but if NBC has its way US viewers will never get to see it because they have decided they are not worth the effort show and promote them and that just a shame because figure skating is a unique sport. It's part athletics, part art, and part performance and no other sport that can do that.

But—as the poster above you so accurately observes—it is completely ridiculous that we, fans of the sport who are perfectly willing and able to pay for and use a streaming platform, feel that there is no viable way to watch this sport except by installing and using VPNs.
It really is bizarre that it has come to this!

Yeah, that's the rub. The nineth generation Magnavox DVR/rabbit ears digital tuner/ dVR burner/DVR player does it all and I have two of them. I dont know how many PaulE has stockpiled. The fact that it does indeed have RCA output jacks (non HD?) could be useful if the DVR part broke and there was such box as you describe. And yes, I still have burners in both my desk tops. I think PaulE told me there is another device out there on the market with a digital tuner and hard drive. I do backup skating events onto DVDs and with the up converter in the magnavox, they look pretty good.
My 2004 CRV and 2006 Matrix are pretty "Dumb" but I dont take them on the road...my 2018 Subaru Forester is alot smarter than I am but I am a paper map kind of a guy anyway which I use on my three motorcycles too. If I am lost I stop somewhere safe and whip out the phone with its navigation apps.

Well, I think you are absolutely correct. So I went to USFS fanzone. There is a link to Peacock but nothing specific...then I went to their calander and couldnt find much under "figure skating" so I tried another tab and they list SA and a link on how to get tickets. So I went to their TV schedule and found this, such as it is. "Check local listings"
IIRC, last season there was a bunch of hype about Peacock and how you can watch live and on demand...at least for awhile......Has anyone seen anything from the USFS other than what is in fanzone?
So if you have rabbit ears here and Cable NBCSN there and Peacock yonder and don't mind missing sleep, you are all set.
Or there are VPNs.

Thank you. Yes, they just left up the old schedule from last year and didnt post a new one. How stupid of me to expect USFS to put up a TV schedule a few weeks out from SA.

October 7, 2021 NBC put out a press release that covered all the skating on the different platforms. I'm hoping within the next few days another press release will explain what is planned going forward in 2022 through to Worlds in March of 2023.
So far I haven't found anything about what is planned.
When I checked Peacock SPEED Skating (not figure skating) there are replays available back to January 2021. There are no competition replays available for figure skating.

Thanks for all your help with VPN info. I have one question. Can I download a VPN to my desktop and use it only for skating and continue to access everything else with my regular ISP address?

Yes, you can. It's pretty easy to switch between using/not using a VPN. For my VPN, all you have to do is click a button and reload the page you were just on. It might be different depending on the VPN, but it's generally extremely simple.

ITA. I think something is amiss in Colorado springs. They wont issue any statements about anything, they wont talk to me, and despite what some here say, I am really a nice person. I have stopped calling and emailing them with polite, reasonable questions that get ignored or unanswered. Unless someone here knows differently, they have not replaced Brent as head of financial giving. I have no idea how they do job announcements for his job, what it pays, etc but since his predicessor went to work for a zoo, I am sure Brent with his skills found a job that pays more than a fast food worker.....God bless him. He did his best and I hope whoever hired him is thankful. If they dont want to tell me about when the Four CCs tickets will go on sale, I am not gonna die on that hill.
The first thing my first real boss ( who went from a janitor to a multi millionaire in 15 years) told me was, "Chris, I dont care if you fix one radio...if the person leaves this business with a smile on their face knowing that you are doing everything possible to help them out, then we have succeeded. Its all about attitude and making customers happy, greeting them and caring about their problems and making them feel cared for. " I never forgot his message and it took me far in life......evidently, no one in charge of USFS knows even that much about how to succeed.
There is a wonderful scene in the movie , The Right Stuff, about test pilots and astronaughts. A reporter tells the pilots in a bar, "You wanna know what REALLY makes your hot planes fly? BUCKS! No bucks, no Buck Rogers. The programs that receive the funding will succeed.
And that is what NASA did....they made sure the original 7 astronaughts were in the news and on the cover of Life Magazine and generated Buzz. And pride.
And they cant figure out why only 400 odd people joined the USFS Friends of Figure Skating.

By the way, since many of my posts get deleted, I will put this positive one out there where we can at least be heard. When the USFS puts some cheese fluff out on instagram, many people are blasting them about their unwillingness to talk about how to watch skating , Peacock, etc. I like the fans' posts and reply to them and thank them for telling the truth about what has happened to USFS. You can rest assured that someone at USFS is reading our responses to their bungling.
