Anna might be away but not forgotten
Well now is as good time as any for the first “Never, ever, ever, count Anna out” of the season.
Looks like people still need to be reminded of that in 2022.

Anna might be away but not forgotten
"Anna Shcherbakova unpacks fans' gifts. In what other sport do athletes receive so much attention and love from their fans? Recently, Olympic champion Anna Shcherbakova received a parcel with gifts, the total weight of which was 230 kg."
We made English subtitles for this gifts unpacking video. Enjoy!
Thank you for the translation!
I was curious for the ladybug story what she talked about in the video, I think I found:

Anna is joining Alina and Yagudin as hosts of Ice Age!
Let's don't say it too early that this would be the farewell. Anya's back on the ice less than 3 weeks ago and since the Russians are banned from international competitions this year, it is a good period for her to recover. She also decided to study part-time at the university to have more time in training. And you are right, whatever she decides, we will be supportive.Hmm, Anna starting to do the TV thing.
Obviously she will bring the same professionalism and hard work to that as she does to her skating.
But, I can’t lie. The other major players that dipped their toes in the water vis a vis television hosting never returned to competitive skating. I’m getting a strange sensation that this might be the beginning of the end for Anna too.
Either way, my love and respect for ShcherbaGOLDa is common knowledge and it’s unabashedly out in the open, so whatever she decides, I’ll be supportive!
That’s the same response I received when I said this about Medvedeva last year. Yes I know, these are 2 different people.Let's don't say it too early that this would be the farewell. Her photo is the one next to the dictionary entry for “clutch”Unfortunately, I think it's the last we've seen of as Anna as a competitive skater. She might make a half hearted return with simplified content as a kind of farewell, but I don't think she will make a serious return.
There are a couple of reasons for why I say this, and I dare not utter what they are for fear of someone reporting my posts. I would like to elaborate but I had better not.
The competition is unrelenting in Russia too. Kamila has unfinished business and looks incredibly motivated to make amends, Petrosian has turned into a mature skater and has two wonderful programs, Akateva has lost none of her previous form.
Anna has nothing else to achieve, certainly the most clutch skater we have seen.
