2022-23 Cup of Russia - Stage 1 - Moscow

This dress looks heavy.

What a nightmare skate, poor girl. At least her coaches are comforting her.
I guess this skater isn't from Moscow or is from a tiny club with not much ice time.

Oh no nightmare skate for Mochanova, really gutsy of her to go for the harder jumps even after falling on them before and not downgrade her content but sadly it didn't work out for her tonight :console:

She's from Krasnoyarsk, so she isn't from the 3 big figure skating cities.

she's from Krasnoyarsk. i kind of remember her maybe from the Russian Cup or the JGP. but you know, mushrooms

Oh je veux bien te quitter.
Why ne me quitte pas became so popular in Russia? That was even before Kostner's program.
I remember watching a domestic junior comp in 2016 and it looked like it was sponsored by Céline Dion and Lara Fabian since there were so much programs on their songs.

everyone should...quit Dion and Fabian's programs

also understanding the lyrics probably helps. i don't know how many Russians, Americans, Japanese etc know french...
Russians are likely to speak French, at least in my time. English was my second, but French was my third and definitely aspirational. Like, you had to speak English, but you wanted to speak French. Even our foreign passports were still in French in my time owning to ‘French is the language of diplomacy’ unshakable conviction from XIXth century.
