Coaching change for Kimmie

Kimmie is supposed to perform at the University of Delaware Worlds Send Off show on Saturday, March 1. We're going to this show, and hope to have a chance to personally wish her well at Worlds. :)

Oh please post a report. If you do get to speak to Kimmie give her my
best wishes too.

I do think Kimmie's issue is more mental than physical. I thinkshe is going thorugh a period very much like Miki, when everyone was looking at her as the next big thing. She didn't skate good at the GPF and I think she still had that in her mind, not to mention that Zhang scored higher at that event, and she also was competing in the senior level. With all the talk about Zhang, the pressure of knowing that she was in the eye, people's expectations, no wonder Kimmie cracked.

Right. Everything happend the same year for kimmie. Not only was she dealing with a more developed body, but also Caroline was snapping at her heels, she had the added pressure of being reining national champion and she was getting downgrades left and right. The combination of feeling she had to skate perfectly all the time just to keep her place and the frustration of not being able to because she was ajusting her jumps and even when she did skate well, the judges downgraded her.... it just made everything worse.

My advice to kimmie?

skip worlds, work hard with mr. callahan, choose music wisely for next season and put college on hold. If she wants to be champion again, college will have to wait.

Great : I'd love to read even a short report from you. Have fun!!

What's wrong with her music??? As long as she loves the songs and inspire her, fine by me. I think skaters should skate the music they feel like to it, since they're gonna skate to it over and over and over again for a whole season. I think it's important that the music they choose means somethin to them.

part of the reason kimmie went to richard is to help tara, look good with her jumps and michelle look bad.

Wow, Meissner and her secret agenda to make Michelle look bad :scowl: Pls!!! Kimmie adores Michelle!!! She just thinks Richard could work well with her and that's all.

I think moving to florida might be a good thing for Kimmie anyways. She can probably enjoy life more down there. She can go to parties and meet boys and go to the beach.

I'm confused. How could this help Tara? She hasn't been part of the skating world for some time now. Some very bizarre ideas you come up with.

No offense to you fairly4 but I think that this post might be a bad English translation. Do you mean that Kimmie went to Richard for help with her jumps as he helped Tara because he was Tara's coach? How am I doing here? I don't get the Michelle look bad part, unless you mean the reason Tara beat Michelle at the 1998 Olympics was because Tara had better jumps.

I really enjoyed Kimmie's music from last season's LP. I thought it fit her, and I felt that "artistically" she did justice to it...

I liked it too, actually. Wouldn't mind if she brought it back.

Remember how she was barely noted for her effort at the 2006 Nationals even though she landed both her 3-3's and only fell on her 2-axel seconds before the end of her program? All eyes were on Sasha instead who landed no 3-3 and stepped out of like two jumps or something....I think the problem is that, kimmie failed to become a top-notch skater in the eyes of many because her lack of artistry held her back, and because she doesn't have as much charisma as some of the other skaters. Remember we talked about how her "beauty" is often overlooked? She's a pretty girl, but in many ways, other than for her jumps, she was considered by many to be average and not quite the brightest "star" in the sport....

My first impression on Kimmie during that season was a "juniorish" skater. That's said, I think Kimmie is no less prettier than Sasha and I find Kimmie prettier than Yuna and Michelle (just my personal preference). I think that Sasha, Yuna, and Michelle know how to use their charms, how to show off how attractive they may be, in a way, how to flirt on the ice. Perhaps Kimmie may bloom in a year or two. I really think that she is a beautiful girl. She just needs a right package to shine. A lot of times, it's more important to behave like a beauty than being a beauty. You need to know yourself that you are pretty. You also need to know how to have people notice it.

I'd like to comment on this for a sec (I agree). I like that she does not try to flaunt her looks, wear skimpy costumes or wear a lot of make up. It makes her comes across as wholesome and natural (IMHO) and I like to see that in a sport of princesses.

BTW I can tell you with confidence that Kimmie's looks have NOT gone unnoticed by "the boys". Won't elaborate further.

Im glad im not the only one noticin how beautiful Kimmie is  Im a boy and I cant keep my eyes off her whenever I see her... the same for Yuna, but if i have to choose, i'd choose Meissner.
