Hi guys, im currently a sophomore in high school and I want to get my senior moves down before I submit my college applications (so that I can write I'm a USFS Gold Medalist). Right now I'm working on my novice moves and am pretty close to testing, but just recently i've started doing SAT classes that are on Friday, Thursday, and Saturday basically all day. I used to do 2x a week lessons (30 min) solely to work on moves on Monday and Thursday, but I'm going to have to cancel the Thursday classes. Do you guys think it's realistic for me to pass my senior moves in like 2 years if I only have one coaching lesson a week and only practicing 2x a week, or do I need to practice more and have more lessons to achieve this goal?

<<Emphasis added>> If that's your only, or at least primary, goal, then I would recommend that you first have a chat with your guidance counsellor: Will being a USFS Gold Medalist add any substantial value to your college applications?

As to your underlying question (Can you achieve your goal with your reduced skating schedule?), no one here can answer that. The best judgement will come from your coach, but that will be a best guess based on past performance. You'll need to gauge how your rate of progress changes when you reduce your skating schedule and revise your expectations accordingly. Also, your classes will get tougher, and you'll have other activities to deal with, so you might have to cut your skating schedule even further. It's all a question of setting your priorities (not easy, for sure). Good Luck!

Thank you so much! I'll def take ur advice and ask my coach. The only reason why I wanted to add USFS to my application was because BU is my dream uni and I wanted to join their synchro team ;) thank u tho!
