Mao leaves coach Arutunian

I think I might have lost a bit respect for you. What gives you the right to judge a skater based on a bunch of unconfirmed speculations?

Mao always spoke very highly of Arutunian in interviews. For all we know, she might have simply wanted to take advandage of state-of-art new rink in her home city, and be together with her family, friends and Aero, while Rafael couldn\'t leave his other students behind for such a long time. Or she might have decided to try and fix her flutz before Worlds (her lutz became visibly shaky recently, and in practices/shows she took considerable effort to take off the outside edge) and Rafael could not help her with that. I see no reason to make up some conspiracy theory here.

I could give a rats *** on your respect for me  Are you in her camp? Do you go throught her trash? I happen to like all skaters now that kwan is gone. When she can do all her jumps then I will be on her bandwagon. To me she is a little prima donna.and sometime doesn't smell right in China.

Well.... I'm pretty sure Mao doesn't give a rats *** on your respect or lack thereof for her :rolleye:

QUOTE=capcomop;305859]And he might have other skaters he is training that made it rather tough to pick up and go away for almost two weeks. I have read other posters who stated that Mao really wanted RA all to herself. She is probably better off with someone else in that case.

Yeah, RA seems to be concerned about other students of him. That is indeed a reasonable concern. I don't know if the Mao side specifically wanted RA all to herself. But the news reports imply that they seem to be wanting to have someone all to herself although Mao's rep did not necessarily make this point.

You may have hit the nail on the head though with Mao's busy schedule. That might also have been a sore spot with RA. She is too busy to come back to him with shows and things in the middle of training for a compeitive season but he is expected to pick up his life to come to her. .

I don't know if RA was annoyed by her shows. But the shows were scheduled around the New Year. The New Year is the most important event in the Japanese culture and there is no way Mao had had to go back to the US only to miss celebrating it at the home country with her family. In Japan, the New Year celebration is between Jan 1st to 3rd, and lasts up until 7th. Students are in the winter break up until 7th? or 8th? or something. The shows were scheduled before and during the New Year. Even if Mao had not attended these shows, she would have deserved spending the New Year at home while training at the local rink.

Then she had 4CC, which she didn't have last year. Furthermore, it was in Korea. It wouldn't be unreasonable for her to train in Japan not to miss training time by international travels and subsequent jet lag to deal with.

It seemed that Miki also stayed in Japan after NHK up until the Nationals. In her case, Morosov seems to have visited her.

Yuna has also been staying in Korea and Brian is going to join her soon although her case is different from Mao's 4CC and Miki's Nationals in that she has treatments to do at her home country.
