Kazuki Tomono

Kokutai is going to be super interesting! There are three clear podium favorites - Shun with Kosho Oshima for Saitama, Sota with Tatsuya for Aichi, and Kazuki and Nobunari for Osaka. Nobunari's name hasn't been officially posted so far, so I hope he's okay. It would be a shame if he couldn't join Kazuki in competing for Osaka, now that Mitsuki has retired.

Kokutai had a free, non-geoblocked stream in both 2021 and 2022. I'm hoping it remains so this season

@Figskater23 , feel free to share your thoughts/stories about Kazuki! I mean, if my 'novels' about Sota's competitions haven't been removed yet, then you should be safe ;)

This is one I thought of for his free program this season.

The arena’s claps echo as he steps onto the ice to take position. His form fitting suit looks sharp and speaks charm. The bow tie is classy. His hair smooth with hairspray. His eyes dark and mysterious. His face strong, sure and gentle. Arms graced with pose. He looks the part of a musical conductor. He’ll bring the arena on its feet with his program. It is something he does well. He captures hearts. This I can see from far away. This story he will tell on the ice is one of wonder, magic, passion, and elegance. A flawless program. A very unique person indeed.

Kazuki released another NowVoice! He's been on a roll recently. This one's title is "Can you see someone's performance before the game?"

His latest Mainichi article was published on the Sunday paper!

Based on the past experience, National Sports Winter Festival (Kokutai) FS event should have its own LIVE broadcasting channel (and without blocking). Hopefully it will be the same this year.
To update on the LIVE channel of Kokutai this year: unfortunately, someone on Twitter checked with the Organizer of the Game, and it seemed that they will not be doing the LIVE broadcasting this year

It's not certain if there will be other means of broadcasting of the event for now (the FS events are open to the public, though...)

That is a bummer... This year is the most stacked and interesting of the last three in terms of the top 3 / top 6 in senior men, and they're not broadcasting live? Very strange. Unless of course a TV channel is going to broadcast it. Hoping for an archived stream now...

So, it's now been confirmed, no spring Challenger assignments for Kazuki... That means he won't be competing from late January till mid-March. Hope he'll be OK 😢

ETA: Apparently he's going to be competing in the Skating Hiroshima 2023 Figure Championship Chugoku Shimbun Cup Competition, 24-26 Feb 2023. I don't understand why JSF is so stingy they can't send him to Challenge Cup with the others 🤬

Neither do I. I mean, if Kaori can get both a Challenger and Challenge Cup, so could Kazuki. (maybe it's because he wasn't struggling in some competitions, unlike Kaori? But still strange.) But at least he's been sent to a Challenger this season. Ah, I really hope I can see him live one day :palmf: At least we can be sure that if WC were in Europe and not Japan, he'd be heading to Coupe du Printemps for a warmup as he always slays at WC when freshly arrived fromCdP. That's a proven strategy. :)

Rankings/Standings will affect his group/start order at Worlds.. CDP last yr got him into penultimate group..

There are too many demands of FS events broadcasting, so -

It's not going to be a LIVE broadcasting, but it is confirmed that an archived stream will be available from the following link:

https://japangamestv.japan-sports.or.jp/

According to the updated info, the competitions will be on the above channel with a 1 day delay (e.g. the competitions will start on Jan 28th, and the archieved stream will be available on Jan 29th). Also, by the previous experience, the above link should be available outside of Japan.
