It's been hard to catch up on reading the thread, because I pasted the mmm thing into the address line and so have a large windows media player version of the turkish broadcast--it's hard to watch the skaters and read the board at the same time.

There is tremendous athletic talent here, but what has struck me most, is that Laura Lepisto understands body language, fluidity of motion, and the importance of carriage and proper use of the hands in figure skating. I keep finding myself wishing that other ladies were demonstrating that.

I forgot to include that I hope Miki feels better very soon!

I think Mira's right where she belongs with that uncharacteristic skate. I'm surprised by her unraveling on the jumps, both at Canadian Nationals and here at Worlds. I'm used to seeing her underrotate, but to double and fall is a big surprise!

I dont believe in miracles and if 10 judges out of 12 are european... bye bye our 3 spots!!! Let's hope 4 the best next year.

Oh goodness, I don't know if my heart can handle the next 2 groups! *wonders why I do this to myself*

Quite frankly, even if the second half of the competition is anything like the first, the judges'll be too busy groaning and sighing along with everyone else to do much rigging of anything!

Doronina has improved from last season (couldn't even get out of the SP portion) but I don't see her being the one to pull the Russian Ladies out of their swamp. I much prefer Katarina Gerboldt style and skating.

However, I do like her music choice, Tale of Wandering, Butyrskaya old Olympic music.

Yeah, my heart is pounding right now. I'm just hoping Kimmie can stay on her feet most of this. I don't have much hope for 3 spots, unfortunately.

Somehow I start wishing that the podium will be
1. Meissner
2. Wagner
3. Liang
so everybody will stop whining already.

The whining got on my nerves as well, sorry! Actually there are a whole lot of more (interesting!) skaters than just the US-girls ...

LOL, I AGREE!:bow: 2 spots is not a sign of the apocalypse. The US has persevered before, think Birmingham in '95 when Nicole was 3rd and Michelle was 4th.
