No idea but there were many reviews during the event said TBarton.. so they did look to confirm calls...

That is bad news for her. But again shows the bad judgement of Skate Canada that they wait to send a skater out to one event late in the season. Have to wonder if she might have been pushing herself to up her TEC content.

Whatever it is, it's bad luck for Fiona. She just switched coaches too...as she left the Roses to go to Bruno Marcotte.
I hope she will be okay to compete very soon... too late for TES this year, but next year, they better make sure she gets out... There are a bunch of summer events she could do as well. (not just domestic)

Interesting to see the age of the skaters in the younger divisions... We have very good prospects in these categories and they won't compete in seniors for a long time... I will be interested in how they develop over the years.

Nice! Also, the Junior girls did phenomenal. Rose and Aleksa are 2nd and 3rd after the SP behind the world Junior bronze medalist Ami Nakai and sandwiched in front of another Japanese skater in 4th place. Looks like one of them will at least make the podium. Canada showing good depth in the Juniors Girls field.

I’m not sure why you would think this has anything to do with Skate Canada’s handling of assignments.

Anyway, looking ahead to Worlds this week, aside from Piper & Paul the thing I’m most interested in seeing is how Lia & Trennt’s debut goes.
 
I meant that this one event was her one and only chance to get the Mins or get a SB score because she was not sent to any other event as a SR. The same thing happened to Maddie. They had to send her out at the last minute to get her Mins the year she placed 3rd at Nationals.

I don't believe this event counts for season's best scores.

While it's too bad she didn't get the minimums this year, I don't see how that affects the fed at all at this point, she wasn't going to need them for anything this year. She can pursue them next year just as easily.

It courts for tes miniimums.. which are valid for a while... meaning that even if she didn’t get them in the fall for whatever reason, she could go to 4cc for instance... that is exactly the issue ... not giving our athletes a chance to earn them way ahead of time puts pressure on them to earn them at the last minute.


These competitions are so important... the novice women didn’t earn good scores at all.. probably because it was their first event ever? Next time, they should do better.. it is essential they get out

Skate Canada also did not use the host pick for ladies at SCI because they had not sent out our ladies to get the experience and been seen by judges before hand. If Fiona gets the host pick next fall she will have no experience at a SR event in front of international judges. Look at Sarah Maude at 4cc who had a great free skate which should have score higher then 118 but because she was an unknown to international judges she did not. It should't be that way but judges do mark on rep.
 
There are a bunch of summer competitions with ISU judges, as well as the usual fall challengers. So Fiona will have ISU-judged opportunities before the GP starts.
 
I will do a glass half-full post...

Our pairs were really amazing this year !!! 4th. 6th and 11th = two seeded pairs for GP and 3 spots for worlds next year.
Let's not forget that all 3 were making their debut at worlds !
Deanna and Maxime tried to upgrade their content, that's positive for the future.
Lia and Trennt... wow... from double throws just a few months ago to gorgeous triples...
Brooke and Ben continue to improve as well.


Bummed for Conrad... he did land a quad combo and a 3axel... one costly mistake.. but I feel that skating so early didn't help... some skaters came later with many mistakes and not that much better skating if any better and Qed. But considering his blade broke, he is incredible to have kept almost all of it in place ! Bravo !

What else to say about Keegan than WOW ! ? That was his best skate ever ! Bravo !

ISU, get your two brain cells together and (re)introduce drawn SP orders. It's ridiculus. When telling judges to not let this influence scores doesn't help there has to be a change.
Less complicated than any age rule problems etc.

In the long run I hope it was nevertheless worth it overall to send Conrad, to get him out there at a Worlds. The first pancake is the ugliest. SC, send the skaters out - it does not only help with minimums but as long as we don't have a draw, it helps with starting groups.
You still don't want to send your skaters out more? Then please, speak up about a SP draw. Big fed, powerful coaches - someone has to start :pray:
 
Very proud of Maddie for delivering a clean performance in the LP. She changed her layout to make this happen, and I appreciate when a skater works things out to deliver a clean performance... something she can build on.

Re dance : our teams were so good ! Judges will be judges.

Re my sleep pattern.... its grade of execution is certainly a minus 5... with a -1 time violation
