Gala Competition "Russian Challenge" 2023

I wonder how they are taking the scores, both Aliev and K/B looked rattled by the score they got, Aliev looked a bit angry while K/B looked sad and embarrassed (it can't be easy to finish last at the event).

I hope none of them take it too seriously and are just enjoying the show, apparently voting for the 'fan favorite' routine is being led by skaters who haven't even skated yet so....

I think he mentioned that he could be a professional pianist if he wanted to. Don't know if that's true, but it's surely a big part of him.
Same goes for Ilya Mironov - he gave concerts when he was a kid. There seems to be a connection. Then again, skaters are artists and many excel in different branches, such as music or painting.

The fan favorite vote is a popularity contest. And the fans of the leading vote getters are rabid to the max. They will vote multiple times.

It’s good it’s not a pay per vote. Or else mom and dad would have received a heart attack inducing phone bill next month.

This better become a yearly event.
Good for the retired and semi retired skaters to have something to look forward too and a way for the active skaters to compete without needing to get in 5th gear.

Although the last part of the sentence may be outdated after #21 decides to go into 7th gear. Haha

No doubt. Hopefully the ISU adopts it too. It would help skating globally for more of this.

Kamila attempted a triple axel in near darkness three weeks ago, so maybe she does jump that quad toe haha.

Also, never trust a female skater that has a fruit in her possession. Especially an apple. It’s skating safety 101.
