In the press conference, they said the main reason of their retirement is Dai's right knee. He had to miss some practice, and sometimes even barely could walk. He told Kana that he was going to retire after this season before 4CC. She had decided that he was going to be her last partner, so told him she was going to retire with him, too. They told Marina right before they departed Florida to Japan before Worlds.

Dai said he would want to continue if his right knee allowed, but they both look happy because they could end their competitive career with a high note. They thanked to each other and to Marina.

They will perform at ice shows together as well as solo.

Thank you for the summary, mikeko. I started a retirement thread for Kana and Dai:

If you like, you can add any further information there too. :)

U.S. Juniors Pham/Rogers have split, per their Instas. Achieved quite a bit in their partnership while active students. Lots of good things from this team. Skated very well this year.

Would not be surprised to see Vanessa try with Jeffrey Chen. Will see what Johnathan does.

Pham is new on IPS

Aww. I'm sad. :( Given their age, it was to be expected, but I was hoping they'd stay around for a year or two more. They are so charismatic. Wishing them the best! 🌻 Do we know what they intend to pursue from now on?
Be happy we got to see them together for as long as we did....let us hope he heals well enough to do ice shows.....they are the kind of people you just KNOW will do well with the rest of their lives....and thats a big comfort....

Posts from Shingo (h/t @dorispulaski on their new pairing. )

I will say what I said in the UtaShin FF:

I'm so glad Shingo kept looking for. a partner and will stay in ice dance. I am sad that he is at I.AM for one reason: Joey Russell's choreo was great for UtaShin. But if I.AM helps Shingo stay in ice dance,

Oh that's a shame, I thought they had potential after seeing them at WTT.

I hope she can find a new partner soon, perhaps someone closer in age to her, for a longer term partnership?
Steven has been struggling with a back injury, so I guess it's unfortunately a bigger issue. I assume he's going to retire and go back to coaching, but who knows?

Czech junior pair Barbora Kuciánová/Lukáš Vochozka have split up. Barbora is going to be skating with Martin Bidař from now on, and they're being coached by Bruno Marcotte, Petr Bidař and Ondřej Hotárek. Lukáš is still looking for a new partner, but his coach says that there's a decent number of skaters who are interested, so hopefully, he'll find a good fit soon enough.

wow.... cho/adcock... one international event... WTT... A team silver... . Cho is indeed very young and newish to pairs... she has a lot of potential. Stephen has had numerous partners.... and has been around for quite a while. I was already surprised to see him come back this season. I guess, with the break he had (during lockdown), he may have felt his back would hold up and then it didn't? I am sorry for the Korean team as they were looking good to qualify for 2026... now, we will have to wait and see if they can come up with a good partner for Cho.

Martin Bidar and Barbara Kucianova are now partners. They will skate senior pairs and represent the Czech Republic.

The article says:

Experienced figure skater Martin Bidař was also interested abroad. "The Americans and Canadians also called, but we are happy that we managed to find a Czech partner," comments the chairman of the Czech Figure Skating Association, Stanislav Židek, on the search for a new partner. "We think this is a good solution, it works for them on the ice, they understand each other."
(Google translate)

They are coached by Petr Bidar and Bruno Marcotte. I cannot tell from the article if they will train in Canada.

Retirement for Adcock confirmed. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cr6_AVWrYpa/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Comments imply he will do coaching.

What is thé country of cimlova cirisano ?
this is a very interesting question...

Would they skate for Czech republic : already a very tough field.
Would they skate for Russia : who knows when they would be allowed back.
Would they skate for Italy : perhaps more opportunities especially if G/F wrap it up...but then, neither of them has represented Italy before... so it's two releases not just one that is needed ?

In their photos, they have a certain Peter Pan and Tinker Bell vibe... so, for now, they are skating for Neverland in my books...

I think it will be the Czech Republic or Italy. I'd be surprised if he went and found a non-Russian partner (when there were likely options in Russia) and then kept skating for Russia, given all the circumstances. But we'll see.

Yup... that was my initial reaction.... and of course, we could look at it the other way around, why would a non-Russian skater, decide to exclude herself from competition by forming a new partnership with an athlete representing an illegible country.... sure, he is a great partner... but yeah...

Im pretty sure Italy, because Dario likely has citizenship given he was born there and Cimlova has eu citizenship so releases shouldn't be difficult. Also they probably would train in Italy given its the european hub for ice dancing atm.
