2023-24 British and Irish Figure Skating

Couple of things I have noted, because I am impatiently waiting for the new season to get underway, and therefore spend too much time wondering round skating scores and instagram.

Layla Karnes and Liam Carr (counting down to the day I accidentally write Layla Fear) competed at the Quebec Summer Champs, RD only, don't suppose anyone saw the live stream? They scored 62.59 for their RD with TES 36.13. Although (as far as I know) this is not an eligible international it seems like a promising start as far as any plans for Euros goes? The ice dance competition is actually tempting me to take a trip to watch nationals this year, the grand prix last year has left me in need of a fix :LOL:

Pleased to see Smart and Dieck also had a decent debut there scoring 69.48 (also RD only).

Special mention to judge 7 who seems to have ranked them the top two on PCS. Maybe they are British or just really liked both teams' music, maybe they just got out the right side of bed that morning, that just amused me :laugh:

Tao Macrae competed at the Cranberry Cup junior men where it looks like he achieved minimums for Jr worlds again, which is a nice bit of consistency for him. He placed 11th. Lucas Fitterer was also there and placed 15th.

Also happy birthday to Darya Dalgich who it looks like celebrated her birthday at Javi's Summer Camp!
 
Oh wow I thought they would stick to the events closer to home because money. Or do they not have a choice which JGP they can send skaters to?

Edit: just realised they all train in the US and actually maybe it's no more expensive for them.

Yeah, irrc Tao McRae competed for the US til novice and switched to GB at some point in 2021 or 2022. He is coached by Michal Brezina

Thanks very much for posting this - I wasn't able to find any results on the British Ice Skating page - where did you find the link?

Also, do you know if any of the events are being streamed? I'm hoping to catch up on the junior and senior ice dance competitions.

Maybe see you at the Nationals!

Actually I saw some helpful person post it on another site! I don't know how they found it :laugh:

I checked BIS TV but there is nothing new. I don't think the qualifiers are normally streamed. We will have to wait a bit longer to see new programmes...

Do you go to nationals?

Results link is available through the sportity app which BIS uses for all their competitions. It has info like practice times, how to upload music, a form for planned programme content submissions. Stuff like that.

Ash and Atl doing a crazy lift again 🤣 the new RD looks lots of fun and definitely suits them! Looking forward to seeing it on the JGP!
 
Phebe and James can definitely pull off the sultry glamour! They got a deduction for something I wonder if they took too long at the start??

Edit: nope it was the dreaded extended lift again :dbana:

Thank you so much for posting! I was so disappointed to miss watching it live.

I managed to watch as far as the end of the pattern dance, but then the stream cut off and is now showing as unavailable/private, unfortunately.

Is there something I can do to access again?
 
What was Lilah and Lewis's short programme music and what was their performance like today?

How did Anthony and Eleanor get on? - I've seen the scores but it would be good to hear about their programme?

Thanks to anyone who was there/saw the stream who can let me know!
