2023-24 British and Irish Figure Skating

I definitely had heard somewhere before that they both were planning to move into pairs - I thought it was here I read it 🤣

It looks like Zarah and Alex did a camp with Bruno Massot recently. No idea about Zinia I'm afraid as her Instagram is private and that's as far as my social media stalking skills extend...

Bit of a surprise move for Alex from dance to pairs. He will be 21 in March, I think Zarah is 16 this year? Not sure exactly when her birthday is. Just trying to do some mental eligibility calculations, potentially if they wanted to compete internationally they would have to miss next season but maybe they wouldn't be ready for that anyway. I hope we get a glimpse in October anyway.

It seems that with Harry and Lydia also with them Zoe and Chris are growing a little pairs bubble which I hope continues!

Side note but Zoe and Chris' little baby girl is super cute 😍

Can't find anything on here, but when searching on Google, I found a post from February on the other forum telling us that in an interview on the Match TV website, Zoe had said that both of the twins were training in pairs.

I'm pretty sure I saw a DOB for them somewhere a few months ago, but I can't find it again now. However, in their profiles on the British Athletics website, they are listed as currently competing at U-17 level. Given that Zinia's last competition at U-15 level was in February 2022, that would suggest that they are now 16.

Some nice skating today, particularly enjoyed Ed who as I remember used the same music for his exhibition at Sheffield... and also slipped at the end and styled it out, though that time he ended up doing the splits 🤣 I have been a fan ever since he just seemed to be having a lot of fun 😄😄

Edit: just went and watches the gala performance again and Mark's comment at the end was that he should consider competing it. Clearly this is Mark's influence 😄

Hi there! Both twins are going into pairs, Zinia has a partnership agreement but the logistics are being figured out at the moment. Arya is also the most happy gorgeous baby girl! Everyone adores her so much, I refer to her as head coach she regularly comes to the rink with Zoe 🥰

Hi everyone - I was going to start off a fan fest for Lydia Smart and Harry Mattick (I don't think there is one already, or at least, I can't find one). Does anyone know the best source of up-to-date information for this team?

Looking forward to seeing them at Nebelhorn this weekend.

Not a clue. They came to Bristol while Swindon was shut, but they've gone back now so I can't ask them or Chris anything. Instagram tends to be updated after the event, but then they are busy training!

I didn't know they trained at Swindon, I thought all the top skaters were based in Nottingham, Sheffield or Deeside.

I think you might be muddling Deeside (North Wales) with Dundee (Scotland, on the River Tay estuary). Deeside has a rink, but doesn't currently have any of the top UK skaters.

Lydia Smart and Harry Mattick are now trained by Zoe Jones and Christopher Boyadji, who were also based in Swindon when they were competing. Smart and Mattick had previously trained in Oxford under a different coach.
 
Lots of great skating this weekend but I haven't managed to find Nebelhorn videos yet, are they around on YouTube?

Another great result for Ash and Atl coming first in the free dance!
