Fall on her first jump, but springs up straight away.

Fall on the second jump too. And it looked awkward. But, she carried on like nothing had happened.

Combination jump better, but the landing on the second part wasn't the best.

Combination spin was beautiful.

Her jumps just aren't here today. The next two didn't have great landings either.

I wish I hadn't said anything in my SP report about the group behind the Top 3 being so tight that if any of them made mistakes, they could plunge down the order. Because now I feel that I jinxed Varvara.

She goes into 8th in the FS, and 4th overall.

Well, I'm sure things will go better next week in Celje.

Day 3 marks the start of the ISU part of the event. And it starts with a Junior double-bill. Girls first, and there have already been two withdrawals. There were supposed to be 40 girls, arranged into two groups of 5; followed by a resurfacing; followed by two groups of 6; followed by a resurfacing; followed by two groups of 6; followed by a resurfacing; followed by a group of 6. However, skaters #7 and #40 have already withdrawn. So, we now have 4 girls in Group 2, 5 girls in Group 7, and 38 girls altogether.

Typical! All the jumps Chiara did during the Warm-Up were out of camera shot! Well, two of them started just in camera shot, but the landings were out.

You know, I'm glad now that she dyed her hair, because in this group where lots of skaters were wearing black jackets or dresses, it made her easier to spot. All the other skaters have dark hair!

Lovely jump to start with.

And so was the combination jump that she did next. And the combination spin.

Wasn't sure if she was going to land the next jump. But she did manage to land it.

Everything after that was lovely too.

That was really good. I can't complain about anything.

And she goes into quite a large lead. 7.80 points ahead of fellow Bulgarian (but from a different club) Lia LYUBENOVA.

We're at the second resurfacing. Yesterday, they started going to a black screen during the resurfacings rather than letting us see the Zamboni going around.

The problem with doing that is that sometimes they forget to switch back to the live pictures. In the Intemediate Novice Men's FS yesterday, we missed two out of the four skaters competing because of this. One of the skaters we missed finished last, and the other one we missed was the winner. And today, we missed Alana Pang at the start of Group 3.

It is really annoying. I wish they would go back to sticking to the live pictures.

I was looking forward to seeing the Bertolini sisters, but I see only one of them is here. I could have sworn I saw both of them on the original entry list. Or maybe I am thinking of a different competition.

Hang on. Sara was in position about to start, and the music started, and then the whistle was blown. And she had to go over to the panel.

It wasn't as it it was the wrong music. She is actually skating to "Tango Amore". So, I don't know what was going on.

Anyway, she was called again. And she got going this time. And promptly fell on her first jump!

We see this happen so often when there is a false start. It unsettles the skater.

She got back into the zone quickly enough after this. The rest of it was VERY good.

It started off with "If you Had My Love". I have no idea what the song in the middle was supposed to be. And I barely recognised "Love Don't Cost A Thing" at the end.
