Dancing with the Stars -- Vote for Kristi!

Oh, heck yeah. I vote for Tony. Not just because he's kind of hot, but because Rhythm's my division and needs more love. Likewise I'm not likely to vote for anyone Louis partners for reasons totally unrelated to what happesn on the show.

When Tony was partnering Leeza Gibbons I found her painful to watch, but I still voted for them, just because ;)

Do tell your Louis story.

The show is titled "Dancing With The Stars". Kristi is one of the Stars and imho, is far and away the best of this season's "Star" amateurs. She gets my votes, overwhelmingly.

That said, Jason is surprisingly good for a big man and I have given him a few votes as well.

Marissa has shown great improvement since the competition began. However, this is not "Dancing With The (Most Improved) Stars... and does not rate any votes from me.

As to advantages, there are always those contestants who have an advantage of one sort or another... this fact does not factor into how I vote. You either are the best dancer or not! Kristi is, and that is why she will continue to receive my votes.

All the dancers have shown improvement. The Network is now trying to figure out which 2 remaining dancers will skyrocket the ratings. Kristi and Jason? I dunni.

I thought Len Goodman made a good point about Kristi's second dance. It was very entertaining. But all those spins, technically difficult though they were, meant giving up something else that might have enhanced the dance even more.

On Good Morning America just now they did a demonstration showing that Christian's crowd-pleasing lift was all Cheryl Burke. The man just stands there while the lady wraps herself around his shoulders. Very interesting.

Len was in fine fettle last night. Comparing Jason's dance with Britny Spears getting out of a taxi cab, and referring to Mario's "Itty Bitty Pretty One," as "big, bloody, ugly one."

I think the finals will have three couples this year (?) Marissa's had a great run, but she will probably go tonight, leaving Christian and Mario to duke it out for the third spot in the finals (just my guess).

I was just glad that they (the judges) seemed to be tough on everyone, except perhaps Cristian, but I agreed -- those dances were 2 of Cristian's best, and he really won me over last night.

Jason's latin number was just plodding but I thought the judges would gush over him regardless, but they didn't. Have I just been blinded by his poise in previous weeks? Because I don't remember him looking down at the floor and almost hunching, and his lack of pointed toes really stood out last night. I like that the judges sometimes couch their remarks and marks in terms of how far along is the competition -- maybe Jason's dance might've been 8 or 9 worthy a month ago. But I'm starting to like Mario and Cristian as much or more as Jason, and I was definitely a Jason fan early on.

I would've said Cristian was the next to go before last night. But he's got sentiment behind him now, and he and his partner actually did a great job with both dances, so, yeah, I'm afraid Marissa will be next to leave.

I'm glad Kristi and Mark got 2 10's for their quick step. I didn't find the samba as bad as Carrie-Ann found it. K & M should still get very high marks for their superior technique. This dance seemed almost like a "concept" dance, or at least it was very stylized, but I liked it. (K's outfit needed to go, but she didn't choose that.) And K&M don't normally rely too much on big tricks, and I thought what they did put in was neat. But maybe I'm blinded by my fandom.

I will say I'd rather see K & M getting some 8's and 9's these couple of weeks, rather than staying at all 10's and having to be super-perfect to keep getting 10's right through to the end. Now, it's like they've been shown not to be perfect and won't have everyone gunning just for them, or have the judges being, consciously or unconsciously, harder on them.

Of course, it's still a popularity contest, and I'm sure Jason has huge chunks of NFL fandom supporting him. He'll be hard to beat.

I was extremely disappointed in Kristi's samba. The spin (in a sit spin position) is pretty popular in Latin and she did it well, and Mark was dead-on not including a lift. But there was no samba hip action.

Wow, Mario is out. It's reached a point where I like everyone left and hate to see anyone go!

And there are some I still wish we could see again, like Steve Guttenberg.

Well, thankfully Kristi is still in it! And Marissa is so cute, she's so delighted when she gets announced as "safe."

I didn't see Kristi's dances on Monday... but we tuned in to see how it panned out last night... :) so glad she's still in (and my dad is still so smitten with her  )

I wish Cary-Ann would stop telling the other contestants, "that wasn't as good as Kristi."

Cary-Ann told Marissa something like, if you are going to try a technically challenging move (a spin), you really have to nail it, like Kristi. And she criticised Shannon's line and posture by saying that a tall person has to work harder at that than a small person, "like Kristi."

That might backfire against her somewhere down the line.

I heard on a talk show that Jason is hoping for an acting career.

Young folk who see this as a major competition, will now skyrocket Jason for the win. Particuarly young ladies. My view is to enjoy the contest and forget about who will win.

being "young folk" and "female" not all of us think that way. I'm not even sure the majority of my peers and younger even watch the show... I believe the target audience for this show is a little older than "So You Think You Can Dance" or "American Idol"

I think Jason is less likely than Marissa pulling off the spoiler! She has huge vote numbers. Or Cristian pulling the sympathy vote out. Between his not-so-hot Latin, Edyta's posturing and their being called on it, Cristian's sympathy vote, Marissa's improvement arc, and Kristi's sense of inevitability, Jason would be the LEAST likely winner of the remaining four!

Please remember, that was not a bottom two last week. Tom Bergeron only mumbled that quickly before announcing Mario and Karina as being the team to leave. For all we know, Jason and Edyta have been receiving the highest viewer votes every week. Given who has won the last three seasons -- all male athletes -- his chances are high. The only one likely to beat him is Kristi, which I hope happens.

Kristi is definitely "in it to win it." According to the front page story on Icenetwork, she will be throwing out the first pitch at Dodger Stadium today.

Kristi says, about the opportunity:
"It's not something you get asked to do every day," said Yamaguchi. "It's definitely a special occasion ... and hopefully I can get some more people here to vote for us and get their support behind us.

"At this point, it's the semifinals and it's a question of reaching the masses out there."

When asked if she hoped that the Dodgers would put the 800 number that fans need to call to vote for Yamaguchi on the Diamondvision board, her husband, Stanley Cup champion and Carolina Hurricanes star defenseman, Bret Hedican, chimed in.

"We certainly hope so," Hedican said.

It's still a popularity contest no matter who wins. It's not all that serious of a contest.

It's not like Tennis where the only way to stop Monica Seles was to stab her.

I thought Cary-Ann was too mean to Marissa tonight and too generous with Christian. Christian's last dance was slow getting started. The first half was all Cheryl. The second half was great. though.

Kristi's jive didn't rock the house like her first one did, but I could see what Cary-Ann was talking about when she praised the difficulty of the choreography.

Now that the sympathy vote about Christian's injury has died down, I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be in jeopardy tomorrow, along with Marissa.

I really wish Jason would go. He was the overscored one, IMO. Marissa's competant. She'd be a good sylabus dancer and her footwork is neat. None of them are actually using their hips correctly (heck, I've had a year and a half with some of the best pros in the business) so I don't give that argument much credence--how can they with as little time as they've had. Cristian is entertaining, and Kristi's great when Mark isnt' freakin' outdancing her! The sync problems were he was overdoing it and she couldn't keep up, and it's his responsibility to dial it down a little.
