Yep definitely. Valieva did too many little uncharacteristic mistakes today to be completely fine.
Even during the spiral, or the attempt of spiral, her face wasn't right.

6 hour hearing on Thursday, massive pressure of expectation in Kazan. It all fell apart.

It's a real toss up between Galliamov and Kozlowskii as to who is more humble.

i don't know, but Moskvina is as old as Christ, probably her ears don't work perfectly anymore

In Kazan as well - jokes on the world I guess Rus Fed is more reformed than ISU. They had Eteri looking mortified.

It's always been better. More consistent. One skater popped an axel, second jump on a combo underrotated, angry face for the first half of her program, 35 PCS. Crazy.

It literally is better right now. This whole stage was amazing. Everyone was getting really fair GOE and judging. The previous stages Eteri girls were still getting fed points (Maya's inflated score was indefensibly egregious and stole some placement from other girls which was really upsetting, and Petrosian got crazy GOE but she would've won anyways so whatever) but this stage something switched like robots were judging or something.


Just mentioning all of her mistakes and kind of making excuses for her, like saying that if she didnt repeat the SEQ she would deserve first or something - which is wrong. She just didnt skate well aside from the SEQ. They are just praising her now non stop. Not a word about her messy StSq, stumbles and general instability but just saying the judging was harsh and they disagree.

It would have been enough for gold or definitely silver. It wasn't that bad. You forget that her short program was almost perfect, and Muraviova's free skate had a low base value. Kamila's base value only 3 behind despite losing 10 or so points on that sequence.

Mishina's air position on the throws is textbook. She's so tight in the air that you know she's going to control the landing.

It's really impressive how she makes all her landings look so easy and effortless. Like something anyone could just go out there and do

In this case, ISU is actually acting with integrity...surprisingly. The fault is fully with RusFed and sticking pigheadedly with being wrong at the expense of the entire sport and their own coaches and athletes. I can only hope that dissatisfaction with unfairness will finally result in clear-headed, decisive actions and the right thing will finally be done. They act like they only have one female skater and one coach in the whole of Russia. Wow! And here i was, thinking they had depth if not honesty. And, like, the talent for backroom dealings. They are outfitting themselves, and have only themselves to blame, and the athletes suffer.

I will in January 2024. I had been waiting for 2 years for some accountability for the last 2 years state of competitions and atmosphere in figure skating world, and I can't wait for it. I want clear slate and it's impossible until then.

I know for a fact that tests were positive and that different, honorable handling of that positive test would have resulted in me cheering for clean, honest Russian athletes in GP this year. The damage control was appalling. If they acted correctly, they would even have had their precious Valieva back into competition by now without blowing up acrimony. Saying sorry when you are in the wrong, and how do we fix it, is the right thing to do. Not beating one's chest and making things worse and worse by insisting the guilty party is some incredible and exceptional saint. So dumb. So damaging. So wrong.

Lol, that's true, from Canada, at least. But maybe he means US. To be fair though, in US, watching any skating is problematic.

I wish we could get them back to international competition, Europeans is in the uk in a couple of years time, I am not sure it will be worth going unless the Russian skaters are there.
