Shoma got the silver medal at Cup of China! A fall on the 4Lo and a popped 2F were quite costly, but I think it's a good thing to see him getting challenged a little, I have a feeling he'll work a little bit harder next time. 💪It's still beautiful to watch him softly gliding around. I'm so glad he was able to smile after that and I'm incredibly proud of what he put out there. 🥲

I decided to sleep in this morning and missed the competition. A couple of mistakes for Shomajesty but he won the Silver, good for him.!
Adam coming from behind to take the Gold with a great skate and Mikhail for the Bronze. Congrats to a fine podium!!!!

Off to watch Pairs and then the replay of the Men.

Congrats Shoma for the silver medal on his GP debut this season! Lots of things to work on, but it seems to be a fruitful competition.

A comment from Shoma after the FS:

I think it was a very good performance.

I think the scores and results were not what you expected, but that's because of my lack of ability, so I will do my best in the future.

In the past few years, I have not been able to put so much into other parts of my performance, besides jumps, so it was really wonderful.

I found some things, such as my posture was too high, or I wanted to be faster, so I would like to practice every day.

Sounding very good. Also, welcome back 4T3T! 😆

Congratulations to Shomajesty on his silver (not backwards!) medal. As we said SEVERAL times in the past, he didn't lose the gold, he won the silver! Good fight, and I love the way he didn't lose the power of the performance because of the mistakes on the first two jumps. I saw someone wrote they never saw him fall on the first jump. I had a flashback to the 2018 Olys when he opened his Turandot program by falling on (guess which jump?!) the quad Loop! :drama:

It was so good to see him on the ice again. To me, his whole body just speaks skating! He was meant to be on the ice! The way he changes speed, his soft arms, his attention to detail. Did he REALLY do that 4T-3T in BOTH programs?! That, for me, was probably one of the greatest takeaways. I think when he skated off the ice, he knew it wasn't enough to beat Adam, but he looked very content and happy, and that makes me happy!

On to NHK, where he will face a formidable opponent in Yuma. I love following him and love the 🎢 I'm so glad to be his fan.

Arriba, you hit the nail on the head when you said his body speaks skating. And that is why I fear his retirement so much. How many other male skaters have the artistic excellence of Shoma? I could never support a jump machine who does flailing arms as a nod to presentation. And the fact Shoma shares much of his homelife with the dogs and snippets of training. Shoma is irreplaceable and I selfishly want him to compete for as long as he can.

Well said!

Shoma did the 4t-3t again :)

I love his program... I don't think many skaters could pull this choreo and interpretation off as well as Shoma.

The costume is awesome too.

I am sure Shoma will do better in his next event. This was his first event. Some other skaters already are at 4 or 5 competitions.
BRAVOSHO!

Noticed a cute Shoma moment during the medal ceremony: Shoma was looking back towards Shaidorov to make sure his medal wasn't on backwards, lol. Glad to see him being slightly more aware of the different sides of medals, lol. 😆😁
Well he did get roasted by Nino on his show for not knowing there are different sides of a medal, and Nino also noticed this (and congratulated Shoma lol) :ROFLMAO:

I'm surprised nobody's talking about "Come Together" yet! Man, that was a tour de force of raw power and energy! I can really see the increased attention to artistry here, it seems like more has been added to it since the summer! What do you guys think about the new costume?
