Yuzuru Hanyu

As it was a terrestrial TV broadcast, accessible to all, this documentary was aimed more at general public who may have heard about Yuzuru Hanyu and little more, than at fans who have already seen both RE_PRAY shows in Saitama and hope to see more behind-the-scene, but there was a good deal of it too, sometimes heartbreaking. Most RE_PRAY programs were visible in full.
It seems to have hit its target, many non-fans having watched and appreciated it, and it trended on both Japanese and Worldwide Twitter. From now on, there will be TV-Asahi-RE_PRAY-documentary fans of Yuzuru Hanyu, as every time something related to him reaches a broader public.
As it was a terrestrial broadcast too, there were commercials, this Jfanyu counted 40 of them:

I must confess that, while I wish the documentary itself would have been even longer, I'm quite happy that TV Asahi can make money on such a documentary.

I'm not sending a Weibo link or the like, but it's just because I'm waiting in case TV Asahi would post a Youtube video on their channel, then I'd like it to have as many views as possible. Otherwise, being a terrestrial TV broadcast, I don't think that there would be a problem sending a link to the whole documentary video?
 
There's now a good number of bits of translation from this documentary, but I'm hesitating a bit, because for the MIKIKO part alone translated by LGeorgin, it's 10 links, that's quite a lot! It would need 5 posts. Do you think it would be worth it, for the readers who are not registered with Twitter, or is it better to let it as it? Anyway, I would send then via private messages with pleasure, to anyone asking me.

This is so interesting! I would love for TV Asahi to put it up on YT with English subtitles for international fans. Or to make a deal with Beyond and add it to their streaming service for a dollar or two, like Disney did add their behind-the-scenes from GIFT to GIFT itself. I am sure many people would love to see it even without subtitles, not to mention a properly subtitled version :pray:

Oh, without subtitles, I think that if TV Asahi doesn't post a Youtube version of the documentary, I'll send a link to a Chinese video site, several users have uploaded it, and in fact that's how I saw it, because I couldn't watch it on the streaming channels during the broadcast. I'm just waiting in order not to deprive TV Asahi of any view, should they decide to upload the video (or broadcast it again later).
It was for the translation, because a handmade translation, even a fast one, is usually much better than an automated translation. But then, with the links above, anybody registered on Twitter can get the whole thread. I wonder if I ought to post the rest, which would be useful only to those unregistered on Twitter.
 
My copy of the CLAMP book has arrived and it is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!! as is the foldout of pictures of Yuzu in those black and white outfits...

I came across some cute fanart. Seems to be inspired by the scene from the recent TV Asahi doc on Re_Pray when Yuzu says he nicknamed "The Gate of Living" programme (many fans favourite of the show) "Rooster Snake" ("Rooster/Snake" maybe) ? :)

It's something in Buddhist teachings I was quite anaware of, and I may err, but it seems that rooster, snake and pig represent the Three Poisons in human mind, greed/sensual attachment, hatred, and delusion/ignorance. The rooster because he has many hens, the snake because it has venom, and the pig because it doesn't know what it's eating.

Here's another fanart on the same idea, with Yuzuru Hanyu comforting Buta the Pig who was "forgotten" in the program. This pig doesn't look like a poison, but in defence of pig, I'd say that usually they're quite discerning regarding food, that's why many truffle growers use pigs in my country, to find out the truffles in the ground.
