2024 European Championships Men's Free Skate

I haven't even heard of him when he was not representing Armenia
So many Russian-born skaters just pop up out of nowhere representing other countries, take the Vlasenko siblings who just popped up out of nowhere and started representing Hungary. I had never heard of them and I follow Russian figure skating

I wouldn't say useless, that's not the right way to describe them. Weiss for example does know a lot about figure skating, but he's needlessly rude and heavily biased. Whenever I end up hearing his commentary, I find myself wanting to punch someone, and I'm not usually a violent person. :slink:

I know he was a skater himself, but when I listen to him I get the feeling it's someone who has watched two competitions in his life. I don't know why that is. Maybe he's trying so hard to give the audience what he thinks they want to hear that everything he knows gets eaten up. I don't listen to him anymore but I remember all his completely useless comments which are on the level of my commentary here about dresses he likes, music he likes - as pretty much the only comment about a program. How is that appropriate for a professional commentator? Not even talking about his extreme biases.

Eco-Maurizio :hap10:

Well, he does like his recycling.

How many years did he recycle this programme for? And "Earth Song"?

Watching, not able to comment so much, but going to put in a word about the skate order:

I think the flights should be in reverse order (are they?) but not in complete reverse order.

Going last, absolute last, in a comp is not the skater's favorite thing to do. (From what I read). No matter how sturdy, wonderful, championship minded, etc etc, the skater, better not to wait so long after the warmup.

Reverse order does make it easier for me as a fan. :)

Just when I was thinking that Zandron was going to stumble his way through the rest of the program he started landing cleanly one jump another. I was watching and eating 🍝 simultaneously. For real. Maurizio I think is my favourite skater in this 1st flight

I also hate this random order. The order of SP is not just easier to organize because needing no drawings, but it is audience friendly. I was already confused to see Ivan skate first before I realized it is the random order.
They do draw the SP actually within a group, but only between 1-3 in and 4-6. So the best seeded will no matter be in the last half of the group.
