I'm glad he was able to have this skate. Too bad about the axel, but Matteo makes skating looks so easy and natural. Every time I see him I have to think that it shows that his father is an ice dance coach. I hope his surgery will be successful and he will come back to this level eventually. Heal well.

Matteo is such a competent skater and I'm always happy for him as a person when he is successful, but his skating always puts me to sleep

I hope I don't sound like an a**h*le, but it's interesting that the song he's skating to is called "Fix You" when after this competition, he's going to get his hop fixed.

i´m going to say something that is going to bring up some discussion. I think I will disagree a little. I do think he perhaps is very dark blonde. Most of Scandinavians with brownish hair are dark blonde. Real brunettes are not that common in Scandinavia, brunette has another tone in the hair.

I know Iceland is a little different, but my grandmother and her mother had very dark brown hair. That being said there’s some lore that maybe there’s a bit of Irish genes from back a few hundred years…
