the "let us know your predictions" troubles me LOL
Predictions? A lot of options are rather limited by who has (or has not!) got the technical minimums

Ladies
Maddie
Reserve: none (unless someone has suddenly got the TES?)

Men
Wesley
Roman
Reserve: Conrad, Stephen Gogolev if fit, Matthew Newman if Gogo not fit

Pairs
Deanna and Max
Lia and Trent
Kelly-Ann and Loucas
Reserve: Caidance Derenisky and Raine Eberl, no-one else has the minimums (assuming Brooke is still injured)

Ice dance
Piper and Paul
Fournier-Beaudry and Sorensen
LaLa if fit, if not Lauriault and LeGac
Reserves, Lauriault and LeGac if not in main team, Fabbri and Ayer, Langahan and Razgulajevs (I think I saw someone say that Bashynska and Beaumont are out injured at the moment), Hensen and Lickers if LauLe in main team.

Agree with your predictions. Given that Gabby Dalemen is skating again and has the TES minimums, I suppose it's possible that she gets named as an alternate if Maddie is unable to go. She could use old programs with watered-down content.

She has SP minimums, but not the FS ones, not that I think she'd be in any competitive shape in the near future.

Gabby doesn't have the free skate minimums for Worlds, she didn't get them last year.

It is good that she's skating again and is ahead in her progress. But it's probably better for her to take her time to return to competition:)

Hehe . They make sense of course... I am just critical of their social media approach.

OT, but I wonder how many non-Canadians are aware pennies were done away with years ago here (also 50-cent coins, and $1 and $2 paper bills)? Must be a shock when they visit for competitions and wonder why they can't get the exact change they expect when they buy a $2.49 item (plus tax) and try to pay with a $5 bill. :scratch2: Have nickels also gone yet? I read they were to be the next coin axed, but haven't used cash for a long time and haven't noticed. Something to warn Worlds-going tourists, anyway.
There is a rounding up or down. In this example of an item at $2.49: with tax = $2.81. The cost gets rounded down to $2.80. If paying with a $5 bill, you get back $2.20, instead of $2.19 if pennies were still in use. I’m sure this won’t be an issue to be concerned with.

Not an issue unless you count your change to the penny and complain when the rounding goes the other way and you are "shortchanged". Usually I find that the rounding is done by the cash register and the clerk asks for the "cash" amount. Only if you use a card do you find out that it's really 2.81 (and pay 2.81) instead of 2.80.

New Zealand removed its one-cent (and two-cent!) coins in 1989. We were tourists there/then; we had no problems with it and were all in favor of Canada's move to eliminate it.

I'm sure they won't mind at all, getting more change than they expected, although they may be a bit confused at getting all coins instead of a paper $2 bill. And if they've been here before but in a different province with a different percentage sales tax. (As my cousin in Alberta likes to rub in, where it's 5% as opposed to (usually) 12% in BC where I live.)

Challenge Cup entries were updated. Lajoie/Lagha are out, Fabbri/Ayer are in.
WOW.... many things here
1) so sad for LaLa....
2) are they giving F/A a competition because there may be another w/d or are they thinking that since LaLe may go to worlds and got 4CC, they deserve a chance to raise their seasons' best score ?
3) no single skaters added..

as a fabbri ayer fan i am delighted they will get an event but at this point.. how broken can my record be ?

@saine can you link the updated list? couldn't fint it...

Updated entry list is here

I was hoping F/A would've gotten an assignment, but this isn't how for sure :( They can't get an SB here though since it's a senior B. But then Matthew ended up on the SB list with his Coupe du Printemps score from last season  Then again maybe Skate Canada realized that their social media engagement yesterday for their Worlds announcement had backfired so better get an alternate ready?

For singles, there is a limit of 18 entries total with 2 per country. There's 10 men entered in seniors from the updated list. Women is at 15, so it would've been trickier to get someone in there. But they could've gotten another man there if they wanted to try. Roman could use another competition before Worlds if he's being named to the team tomorrow.

No Fee Ann 😖
Was hoping she would get an event

I’m happy for F/A (I’ll take this, and they deserve it after their National performance);

Saying my prayers tonight for Roman 🙏 (hope to see him on the entry list for Worlds)

thanks... i was hoping to see Edrian's name there... unfortunately :(
