For me, it's first of all an early GP, so, if he succeeds, he may get a second spot.

Roman unfortunately did not qualify for a GP spot. He was 19th at Worlds (needed to be top 12) and was not in the top 24 on world ranking or season's best score. He has been given a host spot for Skate Canada. He is currently 11th on the replacement list. The top 10 eligible skaters get considered if there is a withdrawal. Most of those above him have one spot and aren't eligible as a replacement for the event they are already assigned to, so Roman will scrape into the pool of possible replacements for most GP events. It is possible that he could get a second spot via being a replacement, but that is by no means guaranteed.

CAS has announced they're keeping the Russians in bronze and Canadians in fourth for the 2022 Beijing Olympic team event so Roman will not be getting a medal. Personally I think it is completely unfair that a team can have a member disqualified for doping and still medal while a clean team gets nothing. Hoping Roman has another chance at the next Olympics.

Roman finished 5th at Nebelhorn with 225.24 (71.99 sp +153.25 fs), his free skate was great even though he had a random spin fall haha

Sadly Roman withdrew from Skate Canada after the short program due to medical reasons. We wish him a speedy recovery!

Roman landed the 4s, 3lz3t, but fell on the 3a in the short program at nationals today, he earned a score of 81.44 and is in first place.

roman landed 4s, 3lz3t, but fell on the 3a and earned 72.85 for the 4cc sp, the protocols aren't out yet but I think he got some underrotations

Some weird moments in that free skate but could have been worse, earns 141.05 for the fs and 213.90 overall, highest among the Canadian men

I both love and despair of Roman. He has SO much potential. I just wish he could actually put it all together for two clean skates in the same competition. He could be top 10 if he did, rather than having everyone nervous about whether he will make the free. There are times when he really reminds me of Mikhail Kolyada.
