Yay, he finally got his own thread. I was surprised he didn't have one for so long. I considered making one myself, but had never done it and was a bit nervous about what it might entail.

But I like him a lot, he's my favorite junior male, along with Vasiljevs. He has a really unteachable feel for music.

Yes Roman, use the mindset you did for the jump combo today for the LP tomorrow. You're a beautiful skater.

I am really sad for him because the jgp final meant a lot for him if he still wants to move upto seniors next year. Maybe the pressure was too much or he really was not in the right mindset to skate today, almost had the opening 4salchow though so we know what he's capable of.

It's been a struggle for him as he's growing a lot but still he is one of the most beautiful skaters in the current field, let alone in the junior circuit imo. I especially love his SP - the way his skating resonates with the guitar's moaning cry is hauntingly beautiful. It's a shame he wasn't chosen for the junior world team, but I hope he'll come back strong next season with 3A and 4S :)

Hey there! I was at Canadians this year and was able to watch Roman practice and compete. He's grown an additional couple of inches since the season started, and is taller than Nam now by about an inch. I'd put him at somewhere between 5'9" - 5'10". He is working on the 3A in practice, and I was witness to a couple of very nice ones. :) Still absolutely beautiful to watch, but like most teenage boys after a growth spurt, is having some trouble controlling his upper body. I was very encouraged by what I saw however. He clearly understands what he needs to do on the big jumps, and now just needs some time to make it all automatic. His ice coverage in particular is very impressive (the upside to all the growth ). He'll be one to watch next season for sure.

Came across this home video of Roman's warm up and LP at the YOG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8dyxWoSSLo Very sweet that he has such a devoted fan. :)
I still can't get over how much he's grown. :eeking: But despite the upper body issues, I'm pleased to see he's managed to maintain his beautiful stretch, extension and toe point. Good thing, 'cause those are some very loooong legs he's sporting now! Has anyone heard anything about the nature of the injury that caused his withdrawal from the YOG team event?

esp his stretch at his camel spin and donut spin is one of my favourite things about him  even some ladies doesnt have it , hopefully he will have a good rest and recover, then come back better than ever!:yay:

His spins are so special! I also love the fact he never loses speed during his camel spin :luv17:

I read someone's tweet that he fell on a jump during practice with his legs split and he couldn't move for a while... but I also heard he was enjoying the team event as an audience so I hope it was nothing that serious.

Here's a few photos I took of Roman a couple of months ago, at the Junior Grand Prix final.

We had the chance to speak to him briefly at both this JGPF... and the previous one... and wow, he grew so much in that one year! The difference in height was quite shocking! No wonder this season has been a bit of a struggle for him - but in spite of that, the expression and artistry in his skating still shines. I'm sure he'll bounce back better than ever when he's done growing.

As of Sunday, Roman has switched coaches and is now with Brian Orser.

WHAT!? If you have one, could you provide us with the source of that information? Well, if that's true, good for his 3A and 4S probably...
