Good news so far for Japan

Looks like today's 7.1 earthquake is NOT a pre quake to a much larger event. Not many hurt. Good thoughts for Japan. 🙏
Glad to hear that. I hadn't been following the news closely, but my neighbour is in Japan this month visiting his son and family, including a new grandson, and I was concerned when I heard. I didn't know if he was in the region hit, but it's still always a worry.

Thank you. Living on the ring of fire and seeing Mt St Helens, and having experienced earthquakes, and talking with my wonderful Indonesian attendants on board cruise ships, and especially living in the effected region of the Cascadian subduction zone , earthquakes are no joke.
Who can forget

Fukushima?

I hope for the best of them all. I admit, although we all knew about 2004 I was never quite as aware of the earthquake danger in Japan until I started watching figure skating and heard of the 2011 one... the videos online of that are terrifying.

I'm also in the eathquake zone on the Pacific coast. I remember when Mt St Helens blew up and we heard the explosion across the border in Canada. I thought a bird had landed on a nearby transformer, as occasionally happened with a resultant very loud bang. Lived through many an earthquake before that and since then.
