Jason Brown

Jason posted a promo for the Ice Sizzler in Boston on Instagram. Looks like he's going to be there. The event advertises previews of new programs. And mentions Team Camp. The show is on Thursday, I believe. Anyone who is near Boston might want to check it out. I wish I could!

This is a new promotion the USFS is trying around Champs Camp. I think it's a great idea.

WIth Jason on his summer radio silence, I guess we are not hearing about a new program until someone sees it. :)

Jason breaks his silence for a short video about his training routine, in partnership with US AntiDoping. Most of us may have seen him do all of these (the pilates, the stretching, the normatec pants) but it's still impressive:

I was very happy to see this post. It means he's not sitting around in Toronto wondering why he decided to do the Grand Prix again and he's not injured. I wish I wasn't so far from Boston now. But I am! I too think it's a great idea.

What a treat to see him in such good condition! And so cheerful too!

And I would have two reasons: my beloved Eagles are in Boston for a preseason game against the Pats on Thursday; they had an open practice today.

But I would go see the Champs camp gala show instead. Pre season meh. Jason's new programs, not meh:biggrin:

If I could, I would. It's a LONG trip from here for such a short stay. Almost 10 hours of driving. Cannot do!

Jason is re-purposing Tarzan as his SP this year.

I was not the biggest fan of Tarzan, but I can see it working much better as an SP. And the costume is gorgeous.
Last year the main issue was that he was not up to speed in his training and had to water down the content, so he and Ro made the joint decision to table it and revive a program that he had already competed. But I agree that Tarzan might work better as a SP. He's known for doing innovative and unusual short programs and I can see Tarzan fitting into that. I am curious to see what his long program will be. It will depend on his training results this year, I would assume. Has anyone found a transcript or recording of the interview in Boston?

wonder what the Long programme will be - my money's on something classical or at least instrumental

I think Tarzan is instrumental? I don't have a clue as to where they'll go with the FS. It may well be lyrical. But they'll be wanting to push the boundaries of what Jason does well to be competitive on the GP circuit. So it will be interesting!

The only thing I liked about the Tarzan program was the shirt!!! The music is just not skateable....IMO. Every time Jason and Ro have been innovative the music has been "different" but lyrical and brought the audience in. Tarzan just doesn't do it for me. I'm sure the choreography will be wonderful and Jason will produce but I just don't see an audience warming up to the music.

I have to say, I am not sold on Tarzan.

The wailing lady kind of vocals, not pleasing to me. The drum portion, OK, but there are other percussion based songs. And Jason is not even wearing that gorgeous green and gold shirt in the clips. :(

But I am heartened if other people like it, then the judges will like it, and I will be happy. :)

I just saw the Jason Brown short program posted by TSL on FB and I love it. I like the mystical lady and the freshness and difficulty of the transitions. This is a unique creation. Every musical accent was met with a choreographic accent. For me there are so many beautiful nuggets that I will be rewatching again and again. I was not impressed by the Tarzan FS, but this I love.
