He’s better known for his singles programs, despite being an ice dancer himself. But yes, Emi and Vadym’s intensity fits with his style.

I’m obviously no good at linking to Instagram…but Vadym just posted what looks like the beginning of their new FD choreographed by Benoit. Much too short a glimpse but very moody and intriguing.

Benoit used to compete in ice dance. I do not see any problems with the fact he may not have choreographed for many ice dancers.

And while I'm at it, thank you so much for the updates you have been posting about them.

I don't look at social media anywhere near as much as I did before the pandemic. For years, I would have checked my Facebook news feed two or three times a day, maybe even more. Nowadays, I only sign in once every few weeks, and most of the time I don't even bother to look at my news feed. All I do is check my notifications. And I don't bother with any other sites. As a result, I don't see as much news as people that do look at social media see.

So, thank you for keeping us in the groove with regards Emilea and Vadym. :bow: :clap: :points:

Thank YOU for creating and maintaining this fan page and for supporting Emilea for so long. I was/am a huge fan of Vadym’s - I think he’s a very special ice dancer. For a long time after he and Avonley split, I despaired of him ever finding another partner who could match his talent and intensity. But Emi and Vadym are amazing together - I can’t believe how well they sync together much less how quickly Emi adapted to ice dance. In a very crowded, competitive field they have a special charisma that sets them apart from other young teams. I can’t wait to see their new programs.

Speaking of which, there is a bit more of their Benoit FD posted on TikTok. Loving what I’m seeing so far!

Under which account on TikTok? I stopped going to Facebook years ago. I never enjoyed Facebook. I use Instagram mostly to keep up with skaters' accounts. I find Instagram much easier to navigate (rather overly addictive, though). 😉

I avoid Twitter X as much as possible. I have never bothered with Threads or with TwitterX Spaces. But now, with TikTok added to the YouTube mix, 😫😵‍💫🙅‍♀️🤪🤷🏽‍♀️

I take it this is a test skate type thing and, as such, there isn't any hope of videos appearing.

But, my goodness. Such an amount of make-up products she had to buy. I often wonder how skaters can be bothered with all that. Especially when she looks stunning without (as this video ironically shows!)

Just as a side note - Emilea in her civvies in this video reminds me so much of another skater when she is in her civvies. Yet when you see them on the ice, they look nothing like each other. :drama: The way they are done up during their programmes, I would never have realised that they are so alike. Especially in their faces.

Really looking forward to finding out what exactly Emilea and Vadym's programmes are going to be (their ISU Bio hasn't been updated yet). Because the clues that Emilea has given us in that video has really got me intrigued.

I probably shouldn't say this, but whenever I think of 70's singers with long blonde curly hair, I think of Robert Plant! :p

Do you know what the songs are? Because I have so many ideas spinning around in my head of Bee Gees songs that I would love to see being skated to!

This is like a dream. Emilea doing a Bee Gees programme represents the coming together of two places that mean a lot to me. 🇨🇾 🇮🇲

(Although, I have to admit, I've only been to one of them. Emilea's island, not the Bee Gees' island).

I still don’t have a clue which Bee Gees songs they chose for their short. But based on the tiny snippets Emi and Vadym have posted of their FD, it sounds like Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds’ “Only the Winds” will be their music for the long - you can listen here. Very moody and dramatic and completely different from their previous programs. They also shared a few seconds of their free today on Instagram . I’m curious what their costumes will be - the gold dress for the short is a knockout.

We’ll know everything soon - Emi and Vadym will compete September 19-21at Nebelhorn Cup in Germany. Ice dance looks fairly salty: LaLa, Lewis & Gibson, C/Pom, Taschlerovi…

Finally, I just have to post this sweet video Emi/Vadym posted yesterday on TikTok

This is full of juicy details and thoughtful discussion from meeting Igor, to pairing with Vadym, the challenges of switching to ice dance, to the importance of mental preparation, and their goals for this season. Lots on last year’s and this year’s programs. Some salient observations on young women in ice dance.

Emi reveals the current female ice dancer she looks up to most is Piper Gilles.

And CaroLiza_fan - The Bee Gees medley is Jive Talking, Stayin Alive, and You Should Be Dancing. All remixes. Emi confesses some insecurity with hair and make-up for competition.😳

Just to let you know, the link you posted has a pile of bumf at the end, including a timestamp that results in it starting to play at 36m 11s (roughly half-way through the episode) instead of at the start. So, here is the link that plays from the start:

I really hate the way a lot of websites add unnecessary bumf like this onto the end of addresses. Especially since a lot of it is to do with tracking. It makes links unnecessarily long.

Anyway, I am not able to listen to the whole episode right now, but I did listen to the introduction at the start, and it was so funny!

It was interesting that it was Vadym's name that presenter Lindsay Wang (Skating Scores Bio) didn't know how to pronounce. For me, the problem isn't Vadym; it's Emilea! I always pronounced her name the same way as Lindsay does, but then last season I heard a rinkside announcer pronounce it a different way. And so I don't actually know which way is correct now.

For me, the best tactic is to introduce yourself, and then ask your guest(s) to explain who they are themselves. That way, you avoid the embarassment of mis-pronouncing names.

Great choice, Emilea! I love Piper, and I love everything about the partnership between her and Paul. They are the perfect role models.

Before I go and update the OP with the details for this season, can I ask for clarification on something?

Is the final song "You Should Be Dancing" by the Bee Gees, or "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" by Leo Sayer?

I wanted to check because either of them would be great for an Ice Dance programme! 💃 🕺 And both of them would fit in well with the other songs! ;)

Can't wait to see them!
