Kazuki Tomono

On a different note, Daiichi Juken Group visited Mainichi Shimbun yesterday! It seems they were delivering a seminar about real estate at Mainichi. Can't help to think of all these connections being built through Kazuki 🥹

Yet, not all great Figure Skaters with great Skating Skills make a reconversion in Real Estate. 🙃

Sorry everyone, I was alway on holiday, but I'm back now so just catching up with some news:

non-no announced Tomono's Monogatari will be updated this week and there will be some news 👀

Daiichi Juken announced that the second batch of TOMONO CURRY has sold out! It seems that this time a lot of people were able to buy it, so it must have been a huge batch.

Finally, today Hyoen released a teaser of the talk between Kazuki, Dai-chan, Koshiro and Takuro Ohno, which airs on 18 Oct:

Will there be a permanent Tomono Curry product then?

It's been announced that Osaka City's Autumn Challenge Sports skating class will feature an exhibition by Kazuki at the beginning: https://www.city.osaka.lg.jp/hodoshiryo/keizaisenryaku/0000636435.html
The City of Osaka will hold a skating experience class on 23 November 2024 (Saturday, public holiday), as the concluding event of the Autumn Challenge Sports, which has been held from September to November.
An exhibition by Kazuki Tomono will be held at the beginning of the class.

It's nice that he participating in the Autumn Challenge event again, as he did in 2018 and 2019.

Welcome back!

Some nice things to look forward to:

- Tomono's Monogatari vol 41 (!) is being published today. Apparently, he talks about his 'new habit' he developed over the summer.

- There will be an announcement by Daiichi Juken Group on Monday 👀

Daiichi Juken also announced that Kazuki's right-handed spoons and plates are back on sale from today. This is so nice as these items sold out pretty fast in the past, so many people that wanted them couldn't buy them before.

I read it on my phone in the middle of the night.

What new habit? I reviewed the article but I still don’t get it. Hey maybe the new announcement will be that they’ll hire him as a full time employee after he retires from competitive skating!

You always seem to be awake at the craziest hours, hope you're getting enough sleep 😭

Haha no, the announcement is that they will launch a 2025 Tomono calendar, this time from January to December (the 2024 calendar is from April-December). This makes me SO happy, I absolutely adore my 2024 Tomono calendar, and was getting sad the year is coming to an end and the calendar is close to finishing.

The new calendar will be on sale from November, fingers crossed they will make international shipping available again 🤞

As for his new habit, it's... reading 📖

This was the first time for me that the non-skating part made me feel more excited than the skating part - I also adore reading and will defo check out his recommendations. I already read Norwegian Wood but his description of it made me want to read it again. I was also touched by his views on diversity, and when he reflected on what's 'normal' and that he himself is not 'normal' because he is a figure skater.

For me, this article really illustrates what Shoma said about his entertaining value going beyond the boundaries of sports - he's not only fun to follow as a skater, but as a person too. His sensitivity and depth of thought are amazing, and as his personality matures and develops, he continues to present things in a new light. It's really fantastic to see it 🥹

I will just translate this bit that basically sums it up:

And what I felt when I tried reading for the first time was how much you can take away from a single book.
With the internet or social media, you only see things from the perspective of your own interests, but with a book, things appeal to you from a different angle, so you can learn about a world you never thought of.

With novels in particular, just reading makes you feel like you've experienced a life different from your own. I realized that expanding your knowledge through the words of others in this way is one of the joys of reading.

I'm still a beginner, so I can't say that I've changed through reading, and people can't change that quickly. But if in the future, when I get lost, I suddenly remember what I learned in a book and it helps me think, wouldn't that be wonderful?
Even if you don't understand 100% of what's written, just knowing that there are many different perspectives out there will surely change the way you see the world. It helps you understand that there are people like this, but that you're like this, and helps you get to know yourself better.

I want to experience different pains and joys from now on, and become kinder to others. I think that alone is enough to give meaning to my life.

As I read books, I was reminded of the lack of life experience I have. I want to learn about different values and become more sensitive to different things. I feel like this will improve my appeal as a person! (laughs)

I have an old bladder! I read the article 3 times and I loved his thoughts..especially on diversity..

Another day, another disappointment with JSF 💩🤡

So, they announced their Asian Winter Games team already (why so early), and they included their 'special group' + Tatsuya as an alternate, not Kazuki. Again, I mean no shade towards Tatsuya, but Kazuki outranks him in every measure: Nationals placement, world ranking, PB score and BV. So why?

Once again this is a reminder of what we can expect for Kazuki in the competitive stage - extreme underscoring + no opportunities. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to make it so that Kazuki won't even have GP assignments next season.
